Percy Jackson and his mom, Sally Jackson where walking home to their New York apartment, from a fun day at the park and ocean.
The seven year old boy turned to his mother, and smiled his lopsided grin.
"Mommy, can we go to the Ocean again tomorrow?"
Sally looked at her sons wide sea green eyes.
"We will see, Percy. Let's get home and have some dinner. How does that sound?"Her son, smiled again, and nodded his head full of raven black hair.
He looks exactly like his father. Sally thought to herself. If only he could see his son grow up."Mommy, are you thinkig about dad again?" Percy asked.
Even though he was seven, he was a very smart child. He always knew if something was wrong with Sally, and he knew that having his stepfather around was not good, but he wouldn't say anything unless she told him too.
Sally quickly changed the subject, for they where right outside of their apartment.
"Percy, Honey, once we get inside, I want you to go to your room and shower then get into your pajamas. I'm going to talk to Gabe, then we'll have dinner. Alright?"
Slowly, the seven year olds grin disappeared leaving a grim, sad look on his face.
"Alright Mommy."
The mother and son walked into the apartment to be greeted by the stank smell of alcohol and cigarettes.
Over in the corner of the living room, was a normal sized table, that was once Sally's grandmother's, bit now was a destroyed peice of trash from all the beer spills, and the barley noticeable sploches of blood on it.
Surrounding the table where four chairs in their respective places. Now, sitting in four of their chairs, are the followers of Smelly Gabe, Percy's stepfather.
In the last chair was the monster himself with his beer belly overflowing the table, making it look like hisbstomach was eating the table, and his half bald head, with only just a little peice of hair right above his for head.Quickly following his mothers orders from earlier, Percy ran upstairs into his room. Instead of immediately going into the shower, Percy sat there on his bed, looking at rhe ring his mommy had given him while they where at the beach.
The ring was pure sea-green, like his eyes, with black outlining the top and bottom of the metal, then the deep blue waves splashing against Percy's favorite Greek Gods symbol.
The Trident.
Poseidon. Now that he thought about it, Percy didn't want to go into the shower. The smell of the Ocean has always calmed him. In fact he finally feels at peace when he's near any kind of water, but mostly the Ocean.
"Gabe! Do not touch my son!!!" Sally yelled from downstairs.
"He's our son, you bit-" Her husband started but she cut him off.
"I lied to you Gabe! He's not your son. He's Seven years old. And you haven't found out yet that he looks nothing like you!"
From upstairs Percy could hear the whole thing going on.
To his face, Percy called Gabe dad or father.
But Percy has always known that Gabe isn't his father. Sally told him that at a very young age.
Gabe looked down at the woman he had just slapped in the face. And saw an emotion pass through her face, immediately, Gabe knew what it was.
"Your son knows.' He hissed in between his teeth.
When Sally didn't answer, Gabe was furious.
"PERSEUS THESUS JACKSON GEY YOUR BUTT DOWN HERE. NOW!"
The little seven year old, slowly walked down the stairs, in his swim trunks, and shirtless.
"Y-yes f-father?" The boy asked.
"Stand in front of me." The older man said, glaring at the scared little boy.
Percy did as instructed, standing in front of Smelly Gabe.
Behind him, Gabe pulled out a belt.
"Gabe!Don't you dare touch-" Sally started, but was cut off by the stepfather.
"You deserve this Perseus."**Hello I'm Bob the time skip**
Percy lay in bed, at 4:30 p.m, sore and tired.
Gabe had beaten him over and over again, for about an hour.
Sally had tried to stop her horrible husband from touching her only child, but he only knocked her down and beated her until unconscious... Maybe even dead.To say the least, the seven year old was terrified. He knew he had to go away. He has to run away from the monster that has beaten him too many times.
His mother has told him before, "Once I'm gone...you run away...to the sea. Your real father will look after you." Even though Percy was four at the time, he knew what his mother had ment.
And that time has come.
**Bob the time skip.again...**At 12:01 a.m, Percy decided it was time to leave...for good.
He grabbed his school backpack and shoved three pairs of pants, four shirts, and three pairs of socks. He then put in the picture of his mother and him at the ocean when he was six. Lastly, Percy put in candy bars, chocolate, water bottles, and granola bars.
All this food and drinks where stored under his bed in a box.
Sally had put the box there, because of Gabe...sometimes he wouldn't let the little boy eat for days on end, and if Sally friend to bring him a plate of food, he would slap her again and again, then the next morning she would have bruises all over her face. The seven year old took one last look at his small bedroom, before opening his window and headed down the fire escape stairs.
Once his feet hit the ground, its like he knew where the Ocean was.
Instantly he headed into the direction of the ocean. Where his father was waiting for him.
