Giovanni's right leg pounced restlessly, Maya paced around, Karam clenched his fists tightly and the others looked at each other without having a clue of what they should do as they received the shocking question that left Kanz's lips.

Giovanni glared at the floor hardly, he still remembered how his heart stopped for a second when Kanz looked at him with her confused green eyes and uttered the question that almost shattered his entire world,

"I'm sorry but who are you?"

Her words kept repeating themselves through his mind over and over again and he clenched his jaw tightly.

He wanted to have another chance with her but he wasn't ready to have her look at him as if he was a stranger.

In some twisted way, he was somehow a little bit glad that she lost her memory and forgot about how he was a bastard to her. This meant he got a new opportunity to introduce himself one more time and make her create a new point of view regarding him.

"Maya.. can you stop pacing around?" Hasan asked with a tired sigh causing Maya to stop abruptly and throw him a glare.

"The doctors are inside this room," Maya said as she pointed at the room behind her, "With my best friend with the suspicion of memory loss. Do you know what this means?"

Before anyone could answer, the room's door opened and the doctor got out, "Unfortunately, Ms. Kanz has lost her memory. We were certain that her head injury might cause such an issue. However, we don't know whether it could be temporary or permanent. She still knows all basic skills along with her ability to speak in foreign languages - English and French- so this means what she has acquired and developed have stayed with her. I have to ask this question though; has she been through a traumatic experience during the past few years per say?"

Silence engulfed all of them and Maya clenched her fists tightly while Karam and Hasan looked at each other.

Maya cleared her throat as she looked at the doctor directly and uttered a small "Y-yes.."

"I see." The doctor scribbled some notes on the paper he was holding.

"What does it have to do with her memory loss?" Karam asked.

"Since her basic skills, comprehension and acquirements were never damaged due to her head injury, it means that her memory loss was because her brain chose to erase all past memories which could've been traumatizing. Meaning, this could be as a case of dissociative amnesia where the person's brain blocks certain events usually associated with trauma whether psychological or emotional." The doctor paused, letting what he said sink in, "Usually, in cases of traumas, the brain blocks the entire situation after the incident happens. In rare cases such as Kanz's, the brain deals with the traumatic experience and tries to push it back and succeeds in wiping the memory once the person is faced with another accident."

"But it's curable, right doctor?" Elias asked and Giovanni looked at the doctor expectantly.

"Yes, of course but it might take some time. Our main priority now is to make Kanz feel safe and loved all the time, keep her away from pressure and stress as much as you can and try to remind her slowly about the good things she experienced and lived. Please be careful and tread around her with caution, she doesn't remember anything and she might be frustrated or depressed often. Thus, you need to keep in mind her emotional state and be patient with her no matter what." With one final nod, the doctor made his way to his next patient.

"Since all of us care about Kanz one way or another, we are going to bear each other's presence for her sake. No arguing, no fighting, no stressing her out, we will show her how glad we are because she survived that accident and we will be by her side at all times." Hasan instructed and the others nodded.
