Kanz walked through the front doors of the company two days after the files incident with Giovanni. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. She couldn't help herself but feel angry every time she remembered the time she got home that day because Giovanni decided to torture her by making her stay the entire night up to search for the 'urgent files' that couldn't wait until Stacy's laptop was fixed.
It didn't help that Maya came for another surprise visit and once she figured out what happened with Kanz, she went ballistic. Maya kept convincing Kanz to go and quit her job because working for that idiot, meant she was going to spend her life as a slave for him.
Kanz kept thinking about the consequences if she decided to resign and she was sure the disadvantages outweighed the advantages. She couldn't afford to be jobless so she decided to stick to this job while searching for another one.
She greeted her colleagues as she passed them, then paused when she noticed Stacy standing by the receptionist area.
"Good morning Stacy." Kanz said as she approached her.
"Hey Kanz! How have you been?" Stacy spoke with a smile.
"I'm fine. I just wanted to ask you about your laptop, was it fixed?" Kanz asked her politely.
Stacy frowned, "Why would I get it fixed?"
Now, it was Kanz's turn to frown in confusion, "I thought it had some type of virus and the IT department was going to check it?" Kanz replied, her answer coming more like a question.
"Who said that?" Stacy asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Mr. Giovanni. He said your laptop was damaged and I had to stay overtime on Monday to retrieve some important files for him from the archive." Kanz said, her nails digging in the palms of her hands. She felt like an idiot as she discovered Giovanni's lies and that made her furious.
"I think he's mistaken, my laptop is working perfectly fine. I hope you didn't have to stay for a long time while searching for the files." Stacy mumbled, sounding apologetic even though she did nothing wrong.
"Don't worry about it." Kanz gave her a forced smile as she walked away, stomping towards her boss's office.
She opened the door without knocking and slammed it shut behind her, Giovanni lifted his head and looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Is there a reason why you just entered my office like this Ms. Kanz?" Giovanni asked as he leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms.
"The same reason you decided to lie to me and keep me working until midnight. Why in hell did you do that? Do you enjoy making me suffer?!" Kanz tried to keep her tone calm but by the end of her speech, she was shouting.
"Lower you voice while you are talking to me." Giovanni spoke calmly as he glared at her.
"Oh for God's sake, take your orders and shove them up your ass. You_" Kanz cut herself off when Giovanni stood up abruptly and started walking towards her.
He didn't stop until he was a few inches away from her and both of them stood glaring at each other in silence.
"I'm your fucking boss so you better address me with respect or else." He spoke lowly through gritted teeth.
"Your threats don't scare me anymore and don't expect me to treat you with respect when I don't receive the same thing from you."
"You, of all people, should know that my threats are never empty." Giovanni gave her a sinister smirk, "Now, calm the fuck down and tell me what got you so angry."
