Three years earlier
THE FRESHLY FOURTEEN-YEAR-OLD-GIRL- gazed up at the large building presented in front of her as her mother's car slowly pulled up to it, teens of all shapes, sizes, and age ranges hung around the entrance and entered the school, seeing the variety of teens made the nervous excitement inside her bubble more.
"Alright, we're here..."
The older woman behind the wheel sighed as she temporarily parked the car so that her daughter could get out, Y/N began to pick up her bag from the seat next to her when her mom turned to look at her
"You sure you don't need me to walk inside with you?"
she questioned with a raised brow, The younger girl nodded and gave her mother a confident look to give her reassurance.
"Yeah, Mama, I'll be fine, I know where the office is from the tour,"
she assured her mother who only shrugged in response, as Y/N had just unbuckled her seatbelt and was about to head out of the car she felt her mom's lingering gaze on her, so she turned to look at her to see a smile on her mothers face
"High school already, aye..."
The mother slowly shook her head, reminiscing on all the other grades her daughter went through before grabbing her phone
"Let me take a picture of you,"
she requested, causing the girl to let out an exasperated sigh and give her a look
"Ma, we just took pictures at the house -"
"Well, I need another one to send to yo uncle and auntie, dem."
the girl huffed as she sat in her seat her mother pulled up the camera app before pointing the phone up at her, she gave an awkward smile as a blinding light flashed in her face before her mom checked the photo
