Mikan x reader

Mikan was never the social kind, her shy nature and anxiousness might be the cause. No matter how many times she tried to approach new people, things didn't go so well. Either she grew nervous and was stuttering so much, her words were completely incomprehensible to the listener, or she was too embarrassed to say a single word and the person she was talking to simply left. That's why, when anyone made an attempt to talk to her first, Mikan couldn't pass up this opportunity. This time was no different.

The story begins when Mikan got a letter from an unknown sender, this mystery man asked to meet her at twelve thirty pm at the military base, located on the fifth island. She rarely saw anyone's handwriting, so she couldn't deduce who wrote this letter. Nevertheless, as was stated earlier, she couldn't decline the offer. After all this person went through a lot of trouble, taking time from their busy schedule to write Mikan a letter, send it, and this person might be eagerly waiting for her to come. Despite the odd meeting location the nurse wasn't fazed by the letter.

The moment she decided to meet them, Mikan rushed into her cottage and began preparing herself for social interaction. How was she dressed? Isn't it too casual? What if this is an important meeting? What about her hair? Is her breath stinky? She did run an errand early in the morning, what if she smelled bad? With these thoughts in mind she quickly stripped and went to take a shower. While scrubbing her perfectly clean skin until it went red she was thinking of topics to talk about. Walking out of the shower she looked at the time, it was twelve pm already, was she taking shower for too long? Changing into her normal pink dress and snow white apron she began drying her hair. No matter how hard she tried styling it, it went back to that messy straight hair.

Mikan was so busy making sure that she was looking and smelling alright that she almost got late to the meeting. As she rushed to the fifth island she didn't notice a very crucial detail, the sky was filled with dark grey clouds and rain could start pouring any minute now. At the military base Mikan found. . . Hiyoko? Yup, it was a small girl in kimono.

— What took you so long?! — the whiny little girl stomped her foot and walked towards the nurse.

— Hiyoko? Was it you who sent me the letter? — the nurse was shocked, she knew that Hiyoko hated her guts, so why did she bother to call her here?

— Never mind that, I just wanted to tell you that you're a stinky pig, — the little blonde walked passed Mikan until an idea popped into her witty little head, — huh? What's there? — she looked somewhere into the horizon.

— Where? — the moment nurse was distracted, the girl snatched her cottage key rom her apron pocket and ran away, it happened so fast that Mikan didn't even notice it. The nurse kept on staring into the distance until she felt cold raindrops that fell onto her fragile form. Raising her hand towards the sky she felt how grey clouds let their tears fall onto her palm, realizing that it's better to go back to her cottage she started walking. Yet, one thought couldn't let go off her mind, why did Hiyoko called her? Just to make fun of her? Why does most of the people she meets hurt her so badly? Is there a problem in her? Perhaps. . . she is the problem.

Mikan snapped out of her thoughts the moment she reached her doorstep. Putting her hand into the pocket of her apron she wanted to take out the key, only to realize that it wasn't there. At this moment, the nurse became paler than the snow, she began rummaging through her pockets, it wasn't there. Well, she is a clutz, what if the luck was on her side and she forgot to lock the door? Trying the handle her lip quivered as she tried to suppress her tears, the door was locked. What can she do in such situation? Call Usami and ask her for a spare key? No, she will definately get scolded for being so irresponsible. What if she asks someone to stay in their cottage? When the rain will stop she can go and search for the forsaken key. Nonsense! Nobody will allow such pig as herself in their room! What if she'll wait in the hotel reception? But. . . what if someone will be there? They're gonna laugh at her, that's for sure. The only thing Mikan thought of, was to awkwardly sit by her door while crying quietly so she won't disturb anyone.
