A puzzle will never be complete if there are pieces missing, every piece of them is very important, without any one of it, we can't see the whole picture. My memories now are like an incomplete puzzle, I lost a few pieces.
I have no memory of the first ten years of my life, my mother told me I tripped over the stairs back then, and it causes the memory loss, besides this I do not have any hint of my previous years. Every time when I tried to ask about my past, my mother will make up another conversation, avoiding it and ignore it. This bothers me a lot all over the years; I try to find photos but no luck. I feel like there is a part of mine is missing. I believe that mother do not want me to remember, but it is a selfish thing to do to keep my past away from me, we argued about it a lot at the beginning, soon I kept the thought of finding out my past to myself and not mentioning it again. Perhaps I began to get through it, what matters is now, it's time for me to move on.
However, we never see surprises coming. It all begins on my 15th birthday.
"Happy fifteen, Allison! Make a wish!" squeaked Elena excitingly, and presented a small cupcake with a small lighted candle on it in front of me.
"Thank you!" I replied.
There are really nothing much I wish for, my friends are treating me very well, my family loves me, I'm doing fine in my studies... Except this, I closed my eyes and say it in my heart :
"I wish I can know about my past. Who I was back then and friends I had, I want to remember." And the candle goes off.
In the evening, the small celebration with Elena ended. I walked back home, it is one of the most enjoyable thing to do. The route to my house laid along the beach side, as I look to my right, the warm red sun just lays on the horizon. The waves pushing gently towards the sand creating a soothing melody, there were only a few people left at the beach. The kids must have left earlier to be prepared for the new school year starting tomorrow so as I. I stopped for a while and close my eyes, trying to enjoy my birthday evening and the last day of summer holiday under the cool breeze.
"Its beautiful, right?" a voice said.
"Pardon me?"
My heart slightly jumped when the person came out of nowhere spoke to me.
"The sun."
The champagne color hair that almost glows under the dawn turned his head away from the view and gave me a charming smile. He was in sports wearing sitting on fence that separate the beach and the road, feet swinging like a little boy. His light blue eyes staring straight at me, seems to be waiting for a response.
"W-well, I think the sea is much more beautiful." I mumbled.
He chuckled and said,"As I expected.Just like back in times."
