"Do I know you?" I furrowed.
"No,no, not at all, but you will." he smiled at me again,
"I'm Jeremy. Just moved into this town this morning, nice to meet you."
He pulled out his hand out immediately from the side pocket requesting for a handshake.
"I'm Allison nice to meet you, Jeremy. I don't know we got new neighbors."
I took the handshake with a second of hesitation. The boy is around my age, lean body. The complexion of his under the sunset is almost glowing. He gave me wide smile again, there was a moment that I found that smile is very familiar, warm and safe, just like an old friend, but I do not know anyone called Jeremy.
"I'll see you around then, neighbor. And happy birthday!" Just before I say anything he jumped down from the rail and jogged away leaving me a mind full of questions.

The next day is the first day of school, but it did not went smoothly. The teacher requested the class to write an unforgettable incident happened back in childhood years and share with each other in class, because of my amnesia, I could not do this task. Although the teacher understands my situation, I still felt very depressed. The rest of the class got the unforgettable childhood while I had no clue about my past, I felt empty. Without my memory, I could not fully understand who I am.
At the end of the day, I walked back home from school as usual. Jeremy was jogging just across the road, when he saw me he waved at me joyfully before I try to avoid any more eye contact he came across the road heading towards my direction.

"Allison! We meet again, how are you?"
"Not good."
"Why?"
"Why do you care?"
"Does caring others need reasons?"
"I..."

No words are able to come out of my mouth, when I wanted to snap back. I finally gave up fighting with him and told him about my worries, my wants for my past. With his joyous tone it made me wanted to talk about the bad things happened today. He listened to me patiently, looked at my eyes like he was looking through my empty soul, sometimes he gave nods and kept listening without interruption. We arrived the front porch of my house without even noticing it, and I finished my talking too, but I kind of feel like I do not want this walk to end, I felt safe beside him and to speak out my most deep thoughts to Jeremy, a new neighbour.

"I'll help you." He said.
"What do you mean, you'll help me?"
"To get your memories, of course!"
"How can you help me? I lost my memories and I had tried to find them for 5 years already." I chucked. I thought it was a bit ridiculous, after all these years I had been trying to find bits and pieces about my past so hard, but still nothing. How could a boy who called himself 'Jeremy' could be so confident that he could help get my memories back?
"Perhaps going to some places children love might help? Let's go to one place every weekend and see if you can get back your childhood before Christmas."
"Are you serious? I barely know you Jeremy, why would I go to kids' place with you every weekend? It's like three months!" I exclaimed. I was almost sure that this guy was just playing with me.
"Yes, I'm serious Allison, I can help you remember the past." His dark blue eyes staring right into my soul, so determined.

"...and you can get to know me in the journey! Are you afraid?" His eyes were filled with light he did seemed serious about it.

"No! Course I'm not afraid, I love adventures! And I want to know about what childhood is like."
"I'll take it as a yes then?" He raised an eyebrow. I gave him an unsure look.
"Just trust me." His eyes flashing under the sunlight, again gave me the feeling of trusting him despite the little time we had known each other.

Before I could respond, the front door opened, mother peered out and said,
"Allison, who are you talking to? Why are you standing out here?"
"I was just...." As I turned back trying to introduce Jeremy to mother, there was nobody there. Maybe Jeremy left already; I brushed off the thought and got into the house.
