COLBY POV.
I watched her go outside after what had gone down between us. I couldn't tell you what made her so intriguing. Maybe it was because I felt bad for her because she was such a loner. Or because her boyfriend was a fuckin tool. Or just simply because she was beautiful and mysterious in her own way.
She just was so genuinely herself. She cover her face because she didn't care. She wore whatever she wanted when she wanted without worrying about looking hot.
And she was fiesty.
She always had a comeback, she always had something to say back to me. And she was always hiding her grin while she did.
I wandered off into the party but I wasn't finding it fun. Everyone here was typical and boring.
I found my way to the back door again, mindlessly, but of course she was there. Maybe I subconsciously found my way back, I wasn't sure.
She looked sad. It made me sad. I sighed and went into the kitchen, grabbing two cups. I poured pink whitney in one and sweet whisky in another and went back to the back door.
I balanced them in one hand as I pulled open the back door. I sighed as I plopped myself down next to her. She seemed to tense up and shut her eyes tight but chose not to say anything.
"I brought you a drink..." I mumbled softly, offering the pink whitney to her.
She sighed and opened her eyes, glancing over before taking the cup from me.
"Thanks..." she mumbled and took a long drink from it.
She looked like she had been crying, which pissed me off more than it should have. She also seemed defeated, hunched over with red puffy eyes. The fact she freely spoke to me at all and thanked me was tell enough she had given up on something.
"You've been crying." It came out more as a statement then a question unintentionally. Damn this alcohol.
She laughed "no shit." She took a long drink again. I grinned a little and looked down, embarrassed.
"Sorry... about earlier. I didn't mean to upset you." I told her softly, drinking put of my cup.
"Yeah... its fine..." She sighed and tried to wipe her makeup off, but it mostly just smeared. I took this as her not wanting to talk about it.
"Here..." I dunked my hand into the water and splashed it onto her face with a grin. "Now try."
She gasped and put her cup down. "Colby!" She yelped but was grinning now. She blinked and shoved me, I playfully leaned but bumped back into her.
"Whaaat! I'm just trying to help, hold on there's still some on you..." I reached down and splashed her again, this time it was more water.
She gasped and backed up and away from the water. "Oh. My God." She started at me, baffled.
I laughed and put my cup down, leaning back to look at her. Her pants were soaked and her shirt wasn't far from it either.
"Okay okay. Here." I took off my black flannel and handed it to her. "Use this for your face." I grinned.
She was doing it again. Trying to hide her grin as she wiped her face. She tossed it back to me when she was done, it landed on my face.
