Roni POV.
I had no idea how I'd get into my dorm. I didn't want to talk to Chelsea at all. I might just beat the ever living shit out of her or burst into tears. Either way was not a win for me.
And my keys were still locked in the room.
Colby had explained to me that I simply needed to go to the office and ask for someone to unlock the door.
So that's where we were headed.
I had no idea what to even say to make it believable that I locked my keys in my dorm but Colby assured me he had it figured out.
"Watch and learn, darling." He grinned and mosied up to the desk where the receptionist sat.
"Hey, uh... my girlfriend here is too embarrassed to ask but, well... she locked her dorm keys in her dorm." He pointed over at me and did a terrible job of blocking what he was saying.
I glared at him and bit the inside of my cheek, my face heating up. Girlfriend? This was so stupid. I ran my thumb across my bottom lip and looked away.
"She locked her keys in her dorm..." the lady raised a brow.
He nodded "yeah she had her arms full and they slipped out of her hand and the door closed behind her before she noticed she didn't have the key. She tried to get back in with no luck and her damn roommate is gone for the week... can you help?" He asked, giving her what looked like a sad puppy dog face. I surprised the urge to roll my damn eyes into the back of my head.
He was lucky women found him terribly attractive and the receptionist who seemed uptight was for sure checking him out. Her eyes scanned his build frame from head to toe before her cheeks puffed out with a tint of pink, then she nodded and blew out the air without another question.
"What room?" She called as she turned.
He glanced at me and I whispered back "221" he turned around and repeated the number to her.
A few moments passed and she came back out with a set of spare keys that looked like they have been worn down and used for years. "Bring them back by the end of the day." she scolded.
He grinned and took the keys. "Thanks, we will." He winked at her and turned to face me as she scoffed and tucked her hair behind her ear, shaking her head and looking down. She wasn't much older than we were, so it made sense why she would be flustered by his bold remarks.
I rolled my eyes, following him in the clothes I wore the day before.
"You really buttered her up." I scoffed. It came out more jealous sounding than I originally planned, I was going for annoyed.
"Jealous?" He grinned, leaning his shoulder into mine and shoving me slightly.
"You wish." I couldn't help but grin as I shoved him back.
As we neared my dorm building my heart began to race and I felt my palms sweat as we walked. I felt a shiver run down my spine as a cool sweat built up between my shoulder blades.
I stopped dead in my tracks and stared up to my window.
"Roni? You good?" Colby's voice was low as turned and looked at me. He approached me cautiously, as if one touch would shatter me. I shook my head softly and sighed.
"I'm not gonna lie... I'm terrified." I looked down at my shoes and rubbed my palms across my eyes. I looked back up at him. "I don't really want to face her." I whispered, he knew exactly who I meant.
I felt pathetic and small and weak. Everything I hated to be. I glanced back up at the window.
"You won't have to alone. You've got me. And I've already beat Kyle's ass once, I wouldn't mind doing it again." I looked at Colby and he had a wide grin on his face. I couldn't help but give a small grin back as I rolled my eyes.
