Gen's POV

Crispy air blew around me as I walked through the outside of Hogwarts to get to the library. It was late, way past curfew, here I was sneaking to the library. I simply couldn't sleep. I tried going to the Astronomy tower to watch the stars but that didn't work. So I'm off to find a good book to cure my insomnia.

Walking into the library and the smell of old books and leather was my favorite thing in the world. I made my way quietly over to a random row of books.

"What are you doing out of bed?" I heard a voice behind me. Shit! I slowly turned around to see Tom Riddle. He's my brothers best friend, I think. I'm not entirely too sure what their friendship is.

"Tommy boy, hey." I smiled softly, "I uh-... Im going to be honest I couldn't sleep." I admitted painfully.

Tom glared at me as I gave him a new nickname. "First off never call me that again. Next you do not have any books in your dormitory?"

I stared at him blankly. I mean, he's right but I don't wanna read those. "I've read them all already." I admitted truthfully, "So I've marched my way to the library to read more books so I can sleep."

This obviously didn't please Tom. "Check them out before after hours then. Look, I'll give you a warning this time but next time I find you in here after hours, I will not hesitate to take points from our house. Understood?" Tom titled his head threateningly.

"Understood Tommy boy, no uh- I mean Tom." I flashed him a smile and ran to my dorm. I didn't wanna run into him again. I much rather sit there in dreadful self loathing silence then be under Tom Riddles watchful eyes.

Those watchful eyes didn't seem to stop the next morning. As I sat with Regulus Black and Rebekah Granger I felt his eyes on me. "Why is Tom Riddle staring at you?" Rebekah asked.

I glanced back and looked at her shaking my head. "He's not." I sighed, "Let's just eat so I can leave." He was definitely staring.

Regulus nodded and happily went back to eating his food. Everything was at peace for just a few moments. "Uh Gen." Regulus began to say.

"May I have a moment to speak with you?" I heard a voice behind me say. I slowly turned around and looked up. There stood Tom Riddle wanting to talk to me. At least I'm pretty sure me.

"Me?" I asked softly. My head tilted to the left slightly as I stared up at him.

Tom chuckled and nodded. "Yes you. Now come on we don't have much time." Tom said seriously. I nodded quickly standing up confused.

"Look Tom you don't have to do this man." Regulus said. I looked over at Regulus confused on what his next words would be. He doesn't have to do what? What is he going to do to me?

"Do what? Wait a second what is happening here?" I questioned looking between the two.

"Nothing is going to happen I just want to talk to you." Tom defended himself as he glared at Regulus, "I suggest you to mind your own business Black, and stay in line. You know what will happen if you do not." My eyes widened at Tom's threat.

I placed my hand on Tom's shoulder, "Let's walk shall we?" I moved from the bench where I sat. Tom gave a sharp nod and we left the Great Hall. I glanced around taking in my surroundings.

Tom glanced down at me obviously observing me. "So listen, I have a group, a club if you will that I would like you to join." Tom explained.

A club? For what like smart kids? Does Tom Riddle think I'm smart? "What kind of club?" I inquired.

"Well it's a club based around the pureblood society and how it should be. Your brother is in it, so is Regulus." Tom began to explain, "Look I have watched you for the past few days. I believe it would be in the best of interest if you join." How pureblood society should be? What in the merlin was he on about.

I stared at him as I stopped walking. "How should pureblood society be?" I questioned.

Tom stared at me blankly stopping in his tracks. Tom thought for a moment, "No breeding with muggles. Just purebloods in Hogwarts, no muggles, no halfbloods." I thought for a moment. What on earth?

     "No." I shook my head.

"No? What do you possibly mean no? I'm asking you to join us." Tom looked shocked.

"I don't believe in any of that, its nonsense. Let the people live their lives. My parents and brother may believe it but I am not them." I shook my head.

"You will join us Genavieve. Mark my words. You will be by my side, and you will like it." Tom glared at me. He quickly pushed past me walking off. I stood there confused. What the utter fuck? Why would I join something like that? Wait Regulus is apart of it? He doesn't even believe in that stuff. I groaned walking to my first class.

It was night time again, once again I couldn't sleep. I groaned as I threw myself out of bed. I snuck out of my dormitory walking down the stairs. I left the common room quickly and made my way to the library.

No way Tom is on night patrol twice in a row. Right? I kept quiet as I made my way to the library. Suddenly I felt a pair of arms wrap around me and pull me off into the darkness. "Out again? Hmm? Don't say a word." Tom's voice rang in my ear. I glared at him. "I thought I told you not to walk around this late at night?" Tom suddenly smirked. Oh no. He had an idea, "Join my group, I will never bother you about sneaking around the castle at night again. If you don't join, I'll take points away right at this moment." I stared at him in shock. He was black mailing me. This little prick.

"One meeting, I will go to one meeting." I agreed. I'd rather not be the cause of us losing points and possible detention.

"Fine one meeting for this incident, each incident will be another." Tom smirked.

     "Fine." I huffed.

"I look forward to continuing to catch you." Tom walked away.

I rushed to the library. I found a book and sat down on the floor cracking it open. I began to read in silence, sweet wonderful silence. This was all I wanted, now I'm stuck going to a stupid meeting.
