Hey yo guys! Y'all want some Flowuby in your life? Of course, why wouldn't you?
She was obviously a crazy person. She basically left saying 'you all suck, peace out nerds.' It was insane, stupid, and kind of rude.
I had to respect it.
"Hey, can we circle back in a second, I've gotta ask X a question," I told my team.
"Sure, but be back soon, I wanted to talk to y'all." Coiny was trying very hard to be the leader. It was slightly annoying, but I guess he was just doing his job.
It was much more likely that Four had the answer, but X seemed less likely to slap me if I asked something that I shouldn't have. "Hey, X. What happens to the contestants who get eliminated? Where do they go?"
X gave me a sympathetic smile. "I'm sure I was told, but I don't remember. Ruby probably just found out. Maybe ask her?" He pointed toward the madwoman, who was currently sipping happily from an iced latte. She noticed my staring, and waved to me with a large smile.
"Yeah, thanks. Good chat."
"Bye Flower," X said, as I made my way toward the strange lady.
I contemplated how to introduce myself and the conversation as I walked. I didn't have to worry about it though. Ruby called over."Hey! Flower, right?"
"Yup. You're just the girl I was looking for." Ruby smiled wider. That actually seemed difficult. She smiled a lot, and wide.
"Really? That's so cool! I love your designs, by the way. I'm wearing the non-slip shoes right now actually." She pointed toward her feet. She was indeed wearing them, in baby blue. "I like that they're functional."
"Thank you so much!" One of the last things I expected to hear at this place was that someone was a fan. But here I was. Suddenly I remembered what I set out to do. "Anyway, do you know what happens when you get eliminated? Like do you stay?"
"Oh, it's a little confusing. It's like, you stay until Wednesday, and then they pay for you to fly back. I'm not doing that, though." She shrugged and before sipping, offered me coffee. I declined.
"What are you doing then?"
"Why would I stay for 4 days in New York and spend one worrying? I'm just gonna get myself a new hotel, and stay here for at least the rest of the week, maybe longer." It didn't seem like she had really thought through her plan. Her eyes darted and fingers danced as she worked it out. "Oh, and I'm watching y'all at least once. If I'm gonna fail I'm gonna at least be a girlboss."
"Pretty sure you already are one. You have the world's best shoes, you look gorgeous, and you went out in style." Great, I called her gorgeous. That's not weird at all.
"You're gorgeous too! That's so sweet." For some reason I felt the need to twirl. It was a good thing too, because I saw my team waving furiously at me.
"Oh, uh, I've go to go."
"TTYL?" I didn't actually laugh, because it would've been mean, but I thought it was hilarious that she said the letters out loud.
"Sure, here's my number." I opened my purse, found a sticky note and a pen, and hastily wrote it down, then stuck it to her drink.
"TYSM!" This time I couldn't help a giggle, but I was already turned away from her.
"See you, Ruby."
And I would, if I had anything to do with it.
