Prologue
"Are you sure this kid's gone through laboratory? She can't even run!"
"You just have to wait, Jonathan. It takes time— "
"Liza, it's been a month! You all said that the operation was successful, but how come this 'little kid' isn't even moving?!" Jonathan sighed.
Brows getting close to each other. Sweat penetrating through their skin. Uncontrollable words coming from their mouth. Unsteady movement of their eyes going from the computer to the little girl sitting on a chair inside a laboratory through the glass window.
"Y-yeah. Other kids already developed their special skills— they even almost mastered it, but—" Flowing thoughts made her stop from constructing words. "It's impossible for her to control it! She's just a kid and knows nothing about what's happening so there's no way she is just controlling the ability we gave!"
As they both catch stares, their faces tell that they seem to have lost a piece in this puzzle. They can't think of any solution right now. Their boss even pressured them to make all the operations successful. No mistakes and wastes.
"C'mon, we're just wasting time and money here. Throw that kid away—"
"What?! Do you hear yourself, Jonathan?"
Jonathan gulped. He is afraid of his boss because for the first time, the operation he held is failed.
"So, what will you going to do, huh? Watch that kid until your hair becomes gray? Don't be too hard-headed again, Liza. Listen to me this time. We haven't submitted the final list so it's okay to just get rid of her!"
"But—"
Liza didn't have any choice but to follow that order. Jonathan has more power than her, anyways.
She was told that the kid will be threw somewhere she won't last long. But Liza's conscience envelopes her making her decide to leave the girl near a village, hoping that she can still enjoy living life as long as she can.
Besides, Liza's still a woman and a mother.
The little girl was left alone in a dark place she knows nothing about. She's been wandering, trying to find something useful for her life, but still nothing to be found. Her whole body is numb as she just got out from the laboratory where her body and mind has been touched.
Until she hears a horn and a sound of railways... a train.
The kid had a relief thinking that something can finally save her.
But she was wrong.
The train is fast enough for her to dodge and she is surprise that the train is already coming after her.
A horn can be heard again.
She closed her eyes... waiting for the next thing she never expected to happen.

It's March 1, year 2040. There's a fiesta happening in the town. A day where almost all people from different villages go downtown to join the celebration.
Except for me.
"Eril! Let's go!! H'wag mo sasabihing hindi ka na naman pupunta? You're missing a lot of fun in your age, I swear!" Jenny shouted from outside of the house I live in.
"I'm busy! I have something to do—"
"Gamit na gamit na 'yang reason mo na 'yan! Ibahan mo naman!"
"Bakit hindi mo ulit subukang pumunta, Ergil?" tanong ni lola habang gumagawa ng bucket hat gamit ang gansilyo.
