「Chapter 6: Sealed Off」

RIMURU'S POV

"Grandpa...passed away"

Ten minutes had passed since I heard those words come out of Yuji's mouth. We stood there silently looking at old gramp's body lying silently on his bed. His hands are becoming cold and Yuji was still frozen in his place.

I called up my parents and told them about it. After I layed down the phone, I went beside Yuji and pats his back. "It's alright, Yuji. Everyone eventually grows and die...", I told him while patting his back. I don't think that those are comforting words though.

After a while, the nurses came and took his body. Yuji and I were standing in front of the door looking at the nurses as they left. We then went back to the room and packed up all gramp's things. The atmosphere was kind of dull, I could say. We finished packing his stuff and Yuji went in to sign some papers while I just laid my back against the wall waiting for him to be done.

"Well, that's all I need", the nurse said as Yuji finished filling up the paper and he gave it to her. " I'm sorry for your loss", she then said as she eyed the both of us with pity.

"Okay... thank you for your care", Yuji replied as he grabbed the bag where gramp's clothes were put in. He then walked towards me with those sad eyes. I can't help but to get concerned.

" Are you okay?", I asked him out of the blue. There was quite a silence. I'm really an idiot arent I? Who doesn't get okay when a beloved had died? I'm sorry Yuji but I ask stupid questions sometimes.

Yuji lowered his head and he sadly smiled, "Well, this is the first time that I have no real feelings for this. But grandpa's going to get mad at me for frowning so much. I'll smile and burn his ashes"

"How can you say that?"... Geez! This kid tells weird things sometimes.

Yuji was about to answer me when a man showed up. It was same as the man I saw at school earlier. He walked in front of Yuji seriously and asked, "Are you Itadori Yuji? I'm Fushiguro from Jujutsu High. I have something to tell you now"

Yuji and I looked at each other as the man who call himself Fushiguro leads us to the corner of the room. Yuji held my hand and we both went towards him.

"I'm in a mourning right now", Yuji told him

"Sorry, I don't have time", he replied as he took a glance of me and he continued talking, " The cursed object on your hand is very dangerous. Please give it to me right away"

"The cursed object?"

Fushiguro took out his phone and he showed us a picture of some thingy wrapped in some kind of cloth laying on a small wooden box. "This one", he told us.

Yuji looked closely at the picture and he nods, " Ah yes yes. I picked it up. I don't care about it but my seniors are very interested. Why, is that dangerous?"

I saw porcupine's eyes began to widen with terror. Woah...that thingy is dangerous? It just looks like a sausage wrapped up for centuries.

"The number of unidentified deaths and missing persons in Japan exceeds 10,000 annually. Most of them were caused by the curse", Fushiguro said carefully while Yuji raised his eyebrows, " Curse?". It seems that he doesn't believe the porcupine's words.

"Believe it or not, this is the truth. It's easy to gather resentment in schools and hospitals. Pain, regret, shame. Humanity's negative emotions are the source of the curse. That's why many schools keep secret exorcism curses. The one you got is also one of them"

Suddenly, I cut him off with some dumb question, "Since it's an exorcism, isn't it a good thing?"

"Let me finish"

Alright... Sorry kid, it's a bad habit...

"Keep the evil cursed object so that no other curse can come near. It's highly poisonous. Demon exorcism is nothing but a vice. It's dela loosened year by year and now it's the bait to invoke the curse and make it grow. The one you've got is classified as a super hazardous material. Hand it over before you make a fuss"

"I told you that I don't have it. Go and see my seniors", Yuji said as he threw a wooden box at the porcupine. Fushiguro opened the wooden box and finds it empty. I looked at Fushiguro with a bitter smile.

"All I'm tracking is the rubbish attached to the box. Where's the object inside?", he angrily said as he grabbed Yuji's shoulder. Oops... someone's mad. I hope his hair don't pop out cause porcupines do. You know what I mean.

" I told you. It's with my seniors. They said they're going to reveal the thing at school tonight...", Yuji said brushing off his hand and he became quiet, ".... Is something serious going on?"

Fushiguro backed away in fear as he looked away from us, "Not just that... They're going to die"

"That's not a funny thing to say, porcupine?! ", I accidentally spat out in anger and Yuji covered my mouth as he looked at Fushiguro with his eyes wide.

SUGISAWA THIRD HIGH SCHOOL, MIYAGI PREFECTURE 〖OCCULT RESEARCH CLUB〗

Iguchi and Sasaki were in their club room late at night. Sasaki was carefully trying to remove the seal from the object they got from Yuji.

"I can't take it off ", Sasaki said as she was struggling to take off the seal. "Do you have to sneak in here to do this? At least turn on the lights", Iguchi rumbled as he stood up while looking at the candle on the desk.

"No don't ruin the mood! Feeling the stimulation is the essence of the Spiritualist Society. Don't worry, nothing will happen", Sasaki remarked and after a while, the seal was finally easy to be removed. They looked at the object and removed the seal slowly revealing a finger.

" A human finger? ", Iguchi muttered looking at the finger. "Is it true?", Sasaki said as she was still holding it. The candle light went off making the room dark. The two of them tensed up and they looked around. The room suddenly rumbled making them scream in fear.

"What happened?! ", Sasaki said as she gripped tightly on the cursed object. Above them was a curse. A defiled one, ready to take its course.
