Chapter 3 || Saiki's House

I'm profoundly regretting inviting YN over. Could it be that my parents got home early? I swear I can hear my parents' thoughts from here. This couldn't be possible because neither of them is home---right?

"Oh hey, we're here, right? Your house is way bigger than mine, thats so cool!" Y/N said cheerfully, completely oblivious to Saiki's panic and annoyance.

"Yeah. I think we should go somewhere else, though."

"Huh? Wait, why? Is something wrong?"

"uh. No. I just decided that I wanted to go somewhere else."

damn. I really wanted to see Saiki's room---he seems so bland I've only seen him actually enjoying coffee jelly.

thats sad I'm not going into that house with the chance of my parents being there. They're annoying on their own but they're even worse when I bring friends with me.

Y/N smiled, "Alright then! Where did you want to go-"

"Ku? Is that you? Oh, do you have a friend over!"

Y/N turned around to Saiki's dismay and waved, "Hello! Are you Saiki's sister?"

Saiki's mom looked surprised, "sister?! No of course not! Im his mother!"

Y/N looked feigned surprised, "Really?! You look so young!"

"We were just leaving."

"Ku don't be rude, you can't! You boys should come in and hang out until dinner is ready!" Saiki's mother said, looking offended at Saiki wanting to leave so quickly.

"Hello Mr. And Mrs. Saiki, my name is Y/N L/N a friend of Saiki's" Y/N said politely.

"Oh, he's so respectful!" Saiki's mom said with a tear in her eye. "I'm just so happy my son could make such good friends!"

"Oh honey you're so adorable caring for Kusuo so much--- it's amazing he's making friends," Saiki's dad said, hugging Saiki's mother.

"Okay we're done here. We're going to my room."

"Oh okay, Ku I'll call you when dinner is done!" Saiki's mom said happily while heading to the kitchen.

"Ow wow." what the-

"Saiki your room is so bland. It could be anyone in here man, the most colorful thing you own is a collection of video games."

"That's just plain rude."

"Well, it's true. You need some color in here, even your bed is white" My house might be small but at least it has personality.

I feel like im being dissed and he doesn't even mean to do it.

"Oh, how cool! At least you have good video games, this one is my favorite!" Y/N said pulling out his favorite video game from Saiki's collection.

That one isn't terrible. It is a horror game though. "Alright."

"... So do you want to play it, Saiki? Saying alright could be 'thats cool anyway' or 'Okay let's play'. "

"Oh. Yes."

"Got it!" Y/N takes the game and sets it up for him and Saiki to play.

Saiki has seemed annoyed since we got to his house, I wonder if anything is wrong. Granted, he's annoyed 90% of the time but I hope I didn't do anything.

I would feel bad but it's not like I can tell Y/N I heard my parent's thoughts from the road and it royally pissed me off. That's sort of taboo to normal people.

"It's booting up! You've played right? I know there's a 2 person mode so we can play together! Plus they just made a new mode, do you have it?"

"Yeah, you can put on whatever mode you want." Of course, I have it, video games and movies are the one thing I can play or watch where I can't 100% predict what's going to happen. It literally came out yesterday but it almost ruins the experience of playing it with someone else. Also, if he's already played it he's gonna spoil the entire thing for me in his head. But if I don't play it today I'll hear all about it from other people.

"Alright let's play it then! I don't want to hear the guys at school talking about it and I haven't managed to get it yet." I'm happy that Saiki has it, if he didn't I wouldn't have been able to play it!

"Alright let's play!"

"Ku, Y/N! It's time for dinner!" Saiki's mother said after knocking on the other side of the door. Y/N and Saiki got up from their spots. They had finished the game a few minutes before Saiki's mom had come to the door.

Oh wow-there's so much "It looks amazing Mrs. Saiki!"

"Oh no, it isn't much! I couldn't make you boys food!" Mrs. Saiki said looking flattered.

My mom is too nice. There's way too much here.

"So you boys go to the same school, right?" Mr. Saiki said, immediately digging into his food.

"Yep! Me and him are even in the same class! We got introduced by a mutual friend though." Y/N said, happily eating the food cooked by Saiki's mother.

"Oh really? Kusuo have you introduced us to this mutual friend, too? I didn't know you had so many friends!" Mr. Saiki said, looking more surprised than Y/N was expecting.

Why does his dad look so surprised that he has friends-is Saiki really that lonely?

This all could have been avoided if they didn't get home early. Y/N could have gone home before any of you got home. Now I have to sit through an awkward conversation with my parents and Y/N.
The Y/N stood up, "Ah-it's getting late Mr. and Mrs. Saiki, I think I should be heading home soon. Dinner was spectacular though Mrs. Saiki! Your cooking was awesome." If I stay any longer It'll be too dark by the time I get out of here

Thats great, his leaving. Im saved.

"Oh, are you sure? Well, alright! Please come back soon!" Mrs. Saiki said cheerily.

Y/N stood up before stopping as if he had a realization, "Do you need me to help clean up before I leave? I wouldn't mind."

Saiki's mom shook her head, "No it's fine You head home, Saiki you should walk him home don't be rude!"

He is fine. He's a grown 16-year-old boy who can walk alone.

"Oh don't worry I don't live too far from here, I'll be fine!"

"Are you sure? Well alright, come back anytime!" Saiki's mother said waving as Y/N walked away.

truth is, I need to stop at the store before it closes and if I don't leave now I won't make it. Maybe ill grab a coffee jelly for Saiki and bring it to him tomorrow.
