"But, we're letting you go."
The silence was overbearing and my life was officially over; I took pride in what I have achieved at such a young age, and now, it's flying from the palm of my hands. I could feel my anger boiling up, my ears are going to release smoke any moment accompanied with a very red face. I stood up, still shocked, and looked into Ellen's pure evil faeces coloured eyes.
"Why?" I shout as I make sure to maintain eye contact with her, "I work very hard and you said that I'm one of the best!"
"You're pictures are becoming," she pauses then smirks, "Very boring and dull."
"It's my pimple, isn't it?" I ask naively, there's no way my picture are becoming either...dull or boring.
"What pimple?"
"Is it me?"
"Wait, Soph.."
"I can change, I'll work harder."
"Sophie!" She shuts me up, then insisted that my pictures were still 'boring' and 'dull' pft, how would she know when she's as fun as riding the Carousel; looks fancy from the outside, but once you ride it, you feel over bored and nauseous.
"I think you need to take some time off."
"Some time off? Where would I go? to my mother's?" I say hysterically.
"That's a good idea. Do whatever pleases you, I could honestly careless. "
I stop for a second, did she really tell me to go back to my mother's?
"I can't go back."
"Now, why is that?"
"Because we haven't spoken in five years."
"Well, This would be the time to rekindle your relationship." Ellen starts to type on her laptop then quickly adds, "shut the door on your way out."
I rage out of her office, she just ruined my life! That cold blooded cow! How dare she! I quickly go downstairs and Colton hands me the camera.
"The models are ready."
"Well, get someone else, I got fired."
His eyes widen, and I feel better to see someone as shocked as I am.
"Oh honey, what happened?"
Colton tries to comfort me by padding my back gently, I appreciate the effort, but it feels horrible.
"The cow is telling me to go back to my mother's house."
"You have a mother?!"
The reason why nobody knows anything about my mother is because we drifted apart, as if we've ever been close in order for us to drift apart. When I left for college, I did everything I could to distant myself from her, even if it's only four hours drive from Greenville. She was one of a kind, Molly Wood was a free spirit. Everybody wanted to know Molly, everybody except for me.
"We're not close."
"What are you going to do?"
"I don't know."
I collected my stuff and head to my apartment. Once I got there, I did what every girl would do after getting fired, I got Ben and Jerry's and watched The Note Book three times in a row while wrapping myself in a blanket like a burrito until David came home.
"Well, you seem pleasant."
"I'm a sad burrito."
"I can see that."
