Ella's dream was peaceful and comfortable until she heard a hurdling scream.
"Ellllllllaaaaaaaaa?"
She jumped out of her sleep and looked around still half way in her bed. Once she realized it was after 7:30 am, she panicked and raced to her closet to throw on clothing. She was never late getting up to make breakfast and now she wouldn't have time because she had to get to work. She was never late to work, for that matter. As soon as she got had gotten her shirt over head, she heard a hard pound on her door.
"Ella, opened the door!" Her stepmother screamed on the other side.

Ella didn't feel like it this morning. But this is what happens when you don't make enough money to move out on your own. It was expensive to live in California. But she had reached the max that she would make as an assistant working for one of the richest bachelors in the city. There was another pound at the door. Ella sighed and walked to the door and opened it. There stood her stepmother, Karen huffing and puffing with rollers hanging on to her blonde hair.
"So you just decided not to wake up and fix my breakfast this morning! If you are going to stay here, you are going to do the duties I have assigned to you. Each morning, you need to get up, make my breakfast and have my coffee ready. Got it?!"
Ella rolled her eyes. Karen narrowed hers.
"Don't think you have some sort of advantage just because you know about your father's will. The only reason you are here is because I wanted to honor his request by helping you. Now hurry up. And do something with that hair."
Ella rolled her eyes and shut the door, mumbling under her breath. She knew the truth. She was still there because it was her father's home and the checks that his lawyer sent from his estate paid for it and she couldn't put Ella out. Also, the checks that were sent to Karen to upkeep her lifestyle would also stop if she put Ella out. However, Ella only had a few more years before she could take over her own part of the estate and the first thing she would do is get far away from there. Until then, she kept working.
Ella threw on her clothes. An under shirt and nude and black sheer shirt to tuck inside her waist high pants. Even though her shirt was wrinkled she didn't have time to fix it. She completed her morning maintenance and as alway allowed her hair to stick out in a fro. She didn't comb it everyday and so you could see the curls tangling yet they still looked voluminous. After she was complete, she ran out the door and got into their 2010 Nissan Altima and went to work.
The office was chattery seeing as though since she was late, everyone who was supposed to be there at that time was there. Ella made it a point to put her things inside the cubicle outside of her boss's office and go into his and let him know she had arrived. He had called her twice on her way there. She first poked her head in.
"Good morning, Mr. Clayton." When she saw that he was doing some paperwork, she walked in.
"Good morning, Ms. Grayson." Tyrese looked up from his desk.
Tyrese Clayton, a young 30 year old millionaire who was a master mind behind starting a very lucrative software business. He was also a very handsome caramel skinned, soft lipped bachelor with a good heart. Ella could barely breathe when she was around him. She had been working for him or 3 years and her fondness of him grew year by year. But he would never see her that way. She was the low class, no fashion sense, big nappy haired assistant that didn''t have a chance. Or so that's what she could tell. What made her like him even more was that he never treated her that way. He was nice on most occasions and patient and loved having her work for him. But she just fantasized about the day when she would be on a business trip with him and would make sweet passionate love to in her hotel room.
"Ella," she heard him say and snapped out of her trance. "Are you ok?"
Ella nodded. She inched toward the door, "Ill get to work now."
