A New Home

This morning when I woke up I felt different, a good different.

Although I thought I would be extremely sad to move away, but I think a clean slate is exactly what I need. Everything here reminds me of my parents, making it hard to walk down the street without crying.

I need to start a new life.

"Good morning sleepy head!" Hannah said cheerfully as she jumped on top of me.

"Good morning" I said sounding kind of annoyed.

I got up and walked down stairs to find a huge table of food waiting for me.

I gasped louder than I hoped to and everyone laughed.

"We thought you should at least leave North Carolina with a full stomach", Jordan said laughing.

We all sat down and devoured the food, talking about how nice it's been over the summer to have me here and sad it will be to see me go.

After breakfast I went back to my room to take a shower and get ready for the day.

I packed the last of my stuff and said goodbye the Davis' house.

Although I said I would be fine to take a cab to the airport, Carol insisted we all go together.

I said goodbye to everyone and walked towards my gate still crying.

And just like that my life in North Carolina was over, and I was about to start a new one in a small country town called Mystic Falls. In a few days I will start my senior year at Mystic Falls High and I will hopefully make new friends and leave all the pain behind.

6 hours later...

As my plane landed, I wandered what my aunt would look like. Will she be rich or poor? Or just have an average amount of money like my parents did? Would I live in a small apartment or a medium sized house? I would soon find out.

After I collected all my bags (which there was a lot), I looked around for a lady holding a sign with my name on it.

Finally I saw my name, Aria Faye, but it wasn't a lady who was holding the sign, it was a man.

I walked over to him looking very suspicious.

"Are you Aria Faye?" the man asked.

"Yep that's me", I said with a questioning look.

"Hi Aria, I'm Zac. Your aunt Kate's husband. Sorry she wasn't able to come here and pick you up, she had to stay home and look after our son". He said and then stuck out his hand ready to shake mine.

I shook his hand and asked "My aunt Kate has a family? I never knew", I said in disbelief.

"Well let me grab some of those bags for you and you can come and meet everyone", he said this with a smile that reminded me of Jordan's.

He helped me with my bags and put them in the pack of his small red car, and we drove off.

It only took about an hour before we passed a sign saying 'Welcome to Mystic Falls' and after that we drove for another 10 minutes or so and Zac had briefly showed me a bit around town.

We pulled up at a huge, huge house - even bigger than Hannah's house.

I got out of the car and my jaw dropped. It was amazing.
