Felicity's POV

Well today is my 10th birthday. I'm not really happy or excited about it... I never really do anything... fun or special for it. Usually mom is at work and I'm left at home alone.
And today is my lonely day. I might just read books or go to the library. Maybe watch a movie in the living room. Im sorry if you were expecting more to this day but, this is what your gonna get.

I'm slouched on my couch watching a movie I forgot the title of. And seriously unamused. Tapping of heels roar down the stairs and here came my mother.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETIE!"
my mum yells as she dives into me for a hug, "OH MY, YOU ARE SO OLD NOW!"

"Thanks mom!" I smile at her.

"I gotta get to work, big warm hugs and kisses for my sweetheart!" She yells from the front door. "Bye!"

Now I am alone I might call Jake, Grace and Will over for the movie today. That might be fun. As I thought of things that I might do today to phone rang.

Oh yeah, I don't think I told you guys about Grace. Well Grace is a girl that I met at school. She is super smart and bubbly at the same time if that is possible. Like when she is doing something other than work she is actually really fun to be around but, when she is doing work she is focused on the task.

At the sound of the annoying jingle of the phone, I stood up from my comfortable position on the couch and grabbed the phone.

"Hello this is the Cromwell residence, Felicity Cromwell, daughter of Mary Cromwell speaking, how may I help you" I say into the phone. Yep, I have to say that whenever someone calls when mom is not home because she said some of the people who might call will be her clients. My mother is a wedding planner and she said that if anyone calls I have to be all fancy and formally.

"Yes, this a Frank Cromwell and I would like to wish my daughter, Felicity Cromwell a happy birthday," I smiled, "um, please and thank you?" He said hesitantly trying to be as formal as me.

"DAD!" I yelled. I haven't see my dad in the longest time ever since I moved here. I miss him so much. My dad lives in another state so that's a downer since I want to stay with him. My parents aren't divorced or anything... It's just a job thing my dad works in one place and my mom another.

"Hi Squish, how are you and your mother?" He said happily. My dad calls me Squish because as a baby I was chubby and when every he called my that when I was a toddler I would laugh and he thought I was adorable...

"We are doing great, Dad!" I said in reply, "but, mom is at work and I'm celebrating my birthday alone..." I said with a pout.

"Awe Squish, invite some friends over, well if it's okay with Mom, I gotta run..." I heard shuffling and other voices at the other end of the phone. "Bye love you" and the phone hung up.

I stared at the phone "Love you..." And placed it back into its stand.

I walked back to the couch and continued watching the movie. Another 20 minutes through then there was a loud and heavy knock at front door that made me just in surprise... I stared at the door then came another heavier knock. That made me race behind the couch and freak out.

What if it's a robber? What is someone is here to murder me? What if I tell them it's my birthday? Maybe they'll leave me alone. Another knock came and I decided to man up and grab a baseball bat and answer the door.

I honestly don't know why I'm so scared. But I am and this is what I came to. The baseball bat.

I slowly I twisted the door knob, squeezed shut my eyes and yanked open the door ready to pumble who ever was found behind the door.
