(A/N: Before we start, I need to emphasise that this puts the "fiction" in "fanfiction" and I changed around a bunch of things and added my own bullshit. One of the bigger changes would be changing the character's classes like how I changed Hanako from 1-2 to 1-1. These far-from-canon stuff will be in subsequent chapters.

Week 1, Tuesday:

  1145 rolled around soon enough and Ayano managed to evade capture with Kuu Dere. The two girls were still outside when Megamo's voice was announced on the PA system, telling the first and second years to return to class.

  Ayano stood up from the grass first, brushing off blades of grass and leaves from her uniform. In the sunlight, her fair skin glowed and black hair shone like obsidian. A goddess, Kuu Dere believed. Ayano's hand extended out to the first year and Kuu Dere's kokoro could not handle all that doki doki. Ayano's hand was as soft as it looked and fit comfortably in Kuu Dere's grasp. She may have been just a little delirious from the heat and having just stood up after sitting for so long.

  Kuu Dere savored the feeling of Ayano holding her hand until the second-year let go once Kuu Dere had balanced herself. Her soft touch and gentle smile was all Kuu Dere needed. She could die happy even if a meteor squished her to smithereens. Cheeks flushed and a little dazed, Kuu Dere followed Ayano out. Ayano contemplated killing her seeing as they were alone, but there was no reason to, yet.

  Back in Class 1-1, the teacher announced that the winner of the seeking team was Nemesis-kun's group, undoubtedly due to his amazing abilities and efficiency. The other five free loaders got the win, but not the recognition. The ever sharp Nemesis-kun found the Hanakos at the very last moment, so Ayano's group dropped to second place for the hiding team, with only her and Kuu Dere surviving. Some other group took the first place spot with four survivors or something, but hardly anyone pays attention to side characters.

  The prizes for the winners were some stationery and snacks which was so much more generous than the previous years. There were 3 ball point pens (dark blue, black and dark green), a mechanical pencil with an eraser on top, extra lead for the pencil, a 15cm ruler, an eraser, and a notepad, all packed neatly in either a mesh pencil case. The students could choose between a black or a white mesh.

  Those stantionery were not just the cheap stuff, nooooo, they were of good quality and from a brand that was under the Saiko Company. Whether the school recently got a higher budget or the Saikous were feeling like Santa Claus, the students had free new school gear that made their classmates jealous.

  As if high-end stationery was not enough, there were baked goods and other confectionery (chocolates, biscuits, bread, buns, tarts, macarons, etc) from the Odayaka bakery—a shop that many Akademi students swear by. Ayano had never personally tried their products, but by the insane number of people who talk about it, she assumes it must be really good. Perhaps Taro-senpai would go there with her on a date.

  Info-kun had considered taking Ayano there in their first year of school, but ultimately scrapped that idea. Modest space plus lots of customers equaled to high people density. Neither of them wanted that.

  The remaining few minutes until 1pm were for the teens to cool off after hide-and-seek, so they broke off into their groups, huddled somewhere and scattered around the classroom.

  "Ayano nee-chan is so smart! It was genius to hide in the maze" Hanako praised, ignoring the glare her brother sent her way.

  "It was only because I got lost in it last year," Ayano awkwardly smiled through the pain, the others taking it for humility. Smart, beautiful and humble Ayano-chan. What's not to be head-over-heels for? "You two tried shadowing the seekers right? Hiding in plain sight? That's a good strategy, but it's too bad that you got caught." Ayano mentally high-fived herself for changing the topic.
