The gang celebrated as the crowd applauded, except for Y/n. Everything flashed through his mind again—the screams of his sister as she begged for his help, the fear and guilt crawling under his skin.

"Are you alright?" Gwen walked over to her lover, who was staring at his watch.

"It's... Nothing," Y/n tried to act like everything was fine, but Gwen could see through it. She hugged him tightly.

"Hey... I know you have problems, but if you don't want to talk about it, I won't force you," Gwen said, trying to comfort Y/n.

"Yeah, yeah," Y/n responded, and they held each other in a tight embrace.

"You're amazing," Gwen whispered, relieved that he was at least opening up a little.

Suddenly, something caught the Web-heads' attention as things started glitching.

"Guys, what is that?" Pav asked, pointing to the ground where a black hole seemed to be forming.

"It's a metaphor for capitalism," Hobie joked, looking down.

"It's your mom's-" Y/n began before Miles smacked him.

"Ow!"

"Just because I taught you that joke doesn't mean you can use it at the wrong moments," Miles said, struggling to hold back his laughter.

"Well, it's not against the rules or laws," Y/n smirked, and they both laughed together.

Miles then looked up and saw a giant spider mech landing on the bridge.

"Okay, guys. Secure the area, clear all the civilians, and let's contain this quantum hole," Jess instructed, and a group of spider-people emerged from the machine.

"Hey, I'm Miles. Uh... We actually met before. When I was invisible," Miles introduced himself, earning a glare from Jess.

"Hey, I'm Y/n-" Y/n began, but Jess cut him off.

"I know who you are. So shut up," Jess said bluntly, walking away to examine the black hole.

Pav looked worried and asked, "Is everything going to be okay?"

The spider-people jumped down to secure the quantum hole.

"So-" Y/n started to say, but was interrupted.

"Miguel wants both of you back at HQ," Jess said, causing Y/n to look down.

"Miles and Y/n are about to head out for..." Gwen tried to intervene and save Y/n and Miles from the truth.

"All of you," Jess clarified, earning a groan from Hobie.

"I don't follow orders, and neither does he," Hobie stated, putting his arm around Y/n.

"We're invited to the HQ?" Miles asked excitedly.

"Whoo!" Y/n exclaimed, trying to be upbeat, but Gwen and Hobie were aware that this wasn't going to be the fun trip the two boys expected. "This is actually my first time, even though I have a watch."

The group dived into the portal, on their way to meet Miguel. They landed on a lift that took them down.

"How are you even cooler under your mask?" Miles asked as Hobie took off his mask.
