Ch.16: Hana & Chico

Normal POV

It's been a while since we've seen Otoko. She stopped coming to the club and she stopped saying hi to us. I felt really bad about it all. What Pico said to her and she just left. He wished things didn't go down like that. He wished that she got the date experience that she always wanted. He sighed, hoping she was okay.

"Chico...?", Hana asked. Chico looked her way during art class and asked what she needed. "Uhm....well...I...I know things didnt....g..go as well as you wanted yesterday. The....get together or....date...it was quick and...I wish It didn't end with dinner. So...I was hoping that....y...you would...go on a real date with me?". As soon as Hana said that, my whole brain nearly burst. OH MY GOD! WOW! A REAL DATE!? WAS HANA ASKING.....ME!? Chico was so embarrassed and flustered. He couldn't believe what he was hearing as well. Hana was blushing, too. She couldn't believe she just asked Chico that. She awaited for his response and got a bit nervous. "If you don't want to then...I understand", she said. Chico soon got serious and said, "No....I want to go...I wanna take you out on a real date and all that! To make you feel special". Hana blushed as he said that. He was now embarrassing her by being so serious. "Where do you wanna go?", Chico asked. "Well....I want it to be a secret. You decide", Hana said. Chico's eyes widened. Wait...he had to decide? He felt kind of terrified. What if he messed up? Plus he wasn't good at knowing his way around. What kind of food does she like? He stopped as he remembered the other day, she had ordered a sandwich. It had ham on it. She didn't seem to like any of the greasy foods. She also got a fruit smoothie. He soon felt better as he knew exactly where his options were.

The bell rang, and school was over. He had been so excited. He had planned to go on a date with Hana right after school. He had to ask Coco for some money and made it very quick for the idea for their date. He was excited to have a redo with her, for her to give him a second chance at this. He knew he couldn't screw it up. Chico found the perfect place. It was at a small diner that sold maltshakes and small meals. He knew that it would be perfect. He told Coco to let Manko know exactly where he was. He knew he never asked her or anything but knew he had to make it up to her. He was just so excited about this date he didn't even think!

"So what do you want to eat?", Chico asked. Hana looked down at the menu to see what she wanted to eat. There was just so much that she wanted to try, but she decided to get a ham sandwich and a rootbeer float. Chico then looked down at his menu and decided to get the same as her. After they got their order taken, they sat there in silence, unsure of what to do or talk about. " So what do you wanna talk about?", Chico asked. Hana said she was excited about an upcoming book fair that the school was running. Chico's eyes lit up in excitement. It was the first time that he had heard of a book fair. "I've never been to a book fair before. Is it really that fun?", Chico asked. Soon, Hana's eyes lit up, and she smiled. "Of course! The book fair is important to me. I read a lot...so..going to them every year...makes me feel so happy. It gives me new tales and adventures to learn about. My aunt is the librarian, so whenever i'm done reading, I give it to her so it is never gone. I occasionally go back to the books I've read and its just...so nice to have them so close to me. No matter how many times i've read them...i still get goosebumps". Chico was in aww by the way Hana talked. She was so passionate about books. She loved to learn so much, just like him. To hear stories and to escape the world and pretend they were there in the pages. It made him feel...so much closer to her. Chico reached his hand out to her and grabbed it. Hana was in shock as she saw him place his hand on hers. She started to blush, but let him hold it. Chico blushed back and felt so happy. He felt so much better around Hana and she made him smile, laugh, and just....feel better. "Here's your food, enjoy", the waiter said. Chico and Hana moved their hands away from each other and started to dig in. The rest of their date was just spent talking about their interests or about about times they did something funny. They finished their food and Chico paid for it. He was hoping to walk her home, but Hana's aunt was coming to get her. They waited outside the place for her. They sat on a bench and sat there in silence, until Hana eased the tension. 

"I had a fun time...I...i'd like to do it again sometime". Chico's eyes widened and he smiled. "Really?", he asked. Hana blushed and she smiled. She then felt his hand close to hers and soo felt embarrassed. She moved her hair behind her ear and then looked at him, with big eyes. Chico's eyes widened and saw how she was looking at him. She was looking at him very different and it seemed very....deep. "C....Chico...will you....be my boy...friend?", Hana managed to say. Chico's eyes widened and he began to blush hard. "B...Boy...f...friend..?", he asked. Hana nodded and then she said he didn't have to if he didn't want to. Chico was blushing hard, but he didn't want her to think he was feeling differently. He then grabbed her hands and had her look at him. "I want to be your boyfriend....so....so..much!". Hana's eyes widened and she blushed, smiling. She then hugged Chico and thanked him. Chico was nearly going to melt. He was so happy! She had liked him and asked him to date her! They parted and before they could say anything, Hana's aunt pulled up. "How was it?", she asked. Hana blushed and put her finger up, to tell her to hush. Her aunt smiled as she saw Chico and asked if he had a ride home. Chico nodded no and knew that Mokkun would be working and Manko had to still work the shop. The boys would be helping her and she couldn't leave her post. He promised he would be okay and intended to keep the promise so his sister wouldn't worry. "I'll give you a ride home then". Chico nodded and headed in the back seat with Hana. They drove Chico home and Hana thanked him again for the dinner. Chico smiled and said he was glad it happened. Hana then bit her lip, getting all blushy. She had read a lot of romance books and after the first date....the boy would make the first move and give her a kiss! Chico hugged Hana before turning away and walk away, but Hana stopped him. "Chico wait..". Chico turned around and asked if something was wrong. Hana got brave and she knew that it was early....too soon...but...she just couldn't help it! She had to do...something! She grabbed Chico's face and pulled it in, kissing his cheek. Chico's eyes widened and his face went completely red. He couldn't believe it. Hana....sh....she just...kissed his cheek! Hana blushed so hard. She couldn't believe she had done that. She moved away from Chico and said goodnight, before going back in the car. She was shaking in fear of what she just did. "You two are just...so cute", Hana's aunt said. "Lets...g..go home now", Hana said. They drove off and Chico headed inside, feeling so happy. He couldn't believe he had met such an amazing girl. She was so perfect and they had so much in common and loved cooking. She made him feel so happy. Whenever she saw him...whenever she smiled and whenever she spoke. She made his whole world so much better. Now....she was his girlfriend....He couldn't wait to see her tomorrow again at school! 

"Chico!". Chico suddenly heard a loud voice. He snapped out of it and saw Manko stomping over to him. "WHY DID YOU NOT TELL ME ABOUT YOUR DATE!?". Chico's eyes widened, awaiting to get in trouble, but soon saw Manko smile. "I'm so happy for you! My little boy is dating!". Chico was in shock and didn't understand. Why was she so happy? Suddenly Pico and Coco walked in and asked how it went. "Well...she....she kissed me...on the cheek", Chico blushed. Manko blushed and felt so proud. Coco's eyes widened and asked how it felt. "It was amazing!", Chico said. Pico scoffed and said romance was for adults and he was too young. Chico's eyes widened and said he was 12 and was old enough. "No...your not, but whatever...". Pico left the room and Manko asked if something happened. Chico and Coco looked down and said, "Pico....he said something he shouldn't have and....is hurting because of it", Coco said. Manko was in shock and asked if she should ask Mokkun to talk to him. "We should just let him handle it...he knows Pico on another level so....maybe...", Chico said. They all agreed. They knew Mokkun would be able to help him recover.

Sorry its so short. I've seen a lot of people starting to either read or add this story to their reading lists and I'm so amazed by how much support this has gotten. I never thought that this would become as big as it did. I want to shape a happy ending for this story and to give it a proper ending. I am still writing for this story, I have planned out what is to come next, so don't think its done, until it reached the epilogue.
