Entry #02622

A month has passed since that 'day'. As usual, I go to school and return home.

I stopped when I felt something pierced through the bottom of my shoe.

A rusty, little piece of metal. Blood. A wound. I sighed. How unlucky I could be today? I was already disappointed with my low score on a quiz earlier and now, this?!

'It hurts.'

I sat down on a root of a near tree and carefully removed the metal along with my shoe and sock.

The wound was deep. It seemed that I stepped on the pointed edge of the metal too much.

I looked at the surroundings. The place was silent. No sign of ghostly presence.

Since that day, Jesse never appeared again. Everything went back to normal. However...

'It is strange.'

Since the day he disappeared, I don't know if it is a coincidence or not but, I have not yet encountered other ghosts with ill intentions. The ones I am encountering so far are harmless.

I ignored the pain and just went home as fast as I could. I let out a heavy sigh when I finally opened the door.

I have this feeling that... Jesse might be still there. I can't help but get my hopes up.
