Hunter's POV (Thursday: 10 am)
Amity and Luz were out on a date to the library and Eda took King to the park, so I was home by myself.

Since leaving the Emperors Coven, I've had more alone time than ever before. I cleaned the Owl House constantly (Eda and King were the messiest creatures on the Boiling Isles in my opinion), even got into this human activity Luz called "sewing". It was good for fixing all of my old clothes since I refused to let Eda get me new ones. I had already taken up space in her home, it was the least I could do.

I was playing some human music, though I'm not sure what it is, when I got a knock at the door.

Coven Scouts? Kikimora? Belos himself?

I whispered, hiding behind the table in the kitchen "Hooty, who is it?"

"HOOT! It's one of Luz's friends, HOOT. I forget his name."

"Thank the Titan."

I pull open the door and freeze.

"Oh..hello Edric. I wasn't expecting you."

The house is a mess. The music is still on. What am I wearing?

I just stood there, looking like an idiot.

"Can I come in Blondie?" He says smiling.
My heart pounds violently.

"Yes. I'm so sorry, you just startled me is all."

He pats my shoulder, "I have that affect on people. Must be my roguish good looks."

I close the door, laughing.

"Huh that's funny Blondie? You saying I'm wrong?" He grows close to my face.

I blush, "Well no... that's not what I meant.."

A large smile crosses his face and he laughs, walking over to the human music player.

I clear my throat, "So....what did you come over for?"

Without turning around, Edric says "You, of course."

I swear I'm as red as Apple Blood by now.

"Oh."

"You're cute when you're flustered."

I try not to smile.

"While I'm flattered with your endless flirting Edric, I'm going to need you to get to the point."

He sighed, "Ah Blondie, always so serious. But you are right, there is a reason why I am here. It's quite embarrassing actually."

I walk towards him, "And what's that Blight?"

His typical demeanor is replaced by one of nervousness.

"Wow, Edric Blight nervous. This is quite a sight. But you know me, I'm not one to judge."

He grabs my hand. My ears heat up, but I don't dare move. How can one boy be so beautiful in so many ways? I grip his hand back.

"That's why you're a great friend."

Oh, yes. Friends.

"Hunter, will you accompany me to the school dance tonight? You don't have to of course..I..well in all honesty.....there is no one else I would rather go with. You might be surprised, but with all of my charm, I have few actual friends. Let alone dates. So..."

I try not to sound too excited, "Yeah! I mean, I'll have to ask Eda.."

"I already asked her earlier. I just....I honestly didn't think you would say yes."
