If you have a minute, why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know
This could be the end of everythingAemond and Rhaella were sitting side by side in an isolated grove, basking in the warmth of the setting sun that was turning the sky into a breathtaking array of oranges, yellows, and pinks. The air smelled of wildflowers scattered throughout the lush, verdant scene, and birds chirping harmoniously in distant trees echoed their song in delight.
Aemond's fingers gently traced comforting circles on the back of Rhaella's hand that rested atop his own. His heart pounded in his chest, he could feel its rhythm echo the deep love he harbored for the woman by his side.
His gaze was firmly fixed on her, tracing the delicate features etched into her face that he'd come to cherish. Her effervescent violet eyes sparkled brighter than any jewel in the realm, her silver-colored curls caught the sunset hues, and her rosy cheeks were flushed from the undivided attention she was receiving.
Drawing a breath, he turned to her, capturing her eyes with his own, and whispered, "You're so beautiful," Aemond murmured, voice barely above a whisper. His gaze was fond and almost reverent as he spoke the words, carrying the weight of his feelings on his tongue.
An elegant laugh escaped from Rhaella's lips. It was light, like a melodious trill resonating through the silent grove. Her cheeks flushed a deeper shade as she turned to face him. "It's only because I'm so in love," she rebutted, her eyes dancing with mirth and affection. At the heart of it, she meant every word; her love for Aemond was profound, deeply entrenched in her soul.
"No, it's because I'm so in love with you," Aemond replied, placing his other hand atop hers, cradling it in between. His voice held a profound earnestness, his cerulean eyes meeting hers, shimmering with an intensity that was exclusively reserved for her.
Rhaella lovingly ran her fingers through Aemond's hair. His locks, as pale as snow and just as smooth, shimmered under the warm sunset light. A small smile tugged at her lips as she noticed his hair draped across his shoulder like silk.
"Your hair," Rhaella spoke, her voice as sweet as the nectar-filled flowers nearby. "It's soft, silk-like, and beautiful—like you.
A playful grin crept its way onto Aemond's face. His heart pounded in his chest at her words, the casual intimacy between them warming his soul. He copied her movements, his fingers gently threading through the river-like cascade of her silver hair.
"I am far from soft, my love." He retorted, stroking the top of her head.
Aemond, the fair yet fierce prince, turned towards the flawless visage of Rhaella – the woman who had captured his heart. His eyes sparkled as he declared, "Rhaella, whenever I peer into the depths of your eyes, I discover an uncharted universe yearning for exploration."
Rhaella looked back at him, a soft blush warming her cheeks. Lowering her gaze momentarily, she finally responded, "Aemond, your eloquence brings me to my knees. Yet, I too, find something in you... a rare mixture of strength and gentility that kindles a warm flame in my heart.
Those words were music to Aemond's ears. He confessed, "Hearing this brings me comfort, Rhaella. The fear of my affection being one-sided has been slowly consuming me."
The sincerity ringed with vulnerability melted Rhaella's heart. "Fear no more, Aemond," she reassured him, "My heart's rhythm aligns with yours. There's a tranquility in your company that I haven't found elsewhere."
Emboldened by her admission, Aemond pledged, "Rhaella, with you by my side, even the formidable storms of adversity would feel like mere whispers of wind. Will you promise to stay with me through all that is to come?"
Tracing the strong lines of his face, Rhaella proclaimed her fidelity, "Yes, Aemond. As long as the moons continue their dance around the heavens, and as long as the stars cast their brilliance upon us, I will stand beside you."
Overwhelmed by her words, Aemond replied, "Rhaella, all I ever wanted was to journey through life's winding paths, hand in hand, heart beating in harmony with yours under the boundless sky."
Feeling his unblemished love, Rhaella replied, "And you, Aemond, will forever be my radiant sun and gleaming stars, my calming moon and endless sea. Together, may our journey be as magnificent as the universe reflected in your eyes."
Wrapping her into a gentle embrace, Aemond whispered, "And you, my dear Rhaella, will always be the essence of my existence, the resolute anchor of my spirit. You will forever be my guiding star."
"No matter what happens, or what the future may hold, I want you to know that I love you body and soul. I would die for you." The young princess remarked, her eyes looking at the sky above.
The one-eyed prince sighed, his single eye filled with torment upon hearing Rhaella. "Not a day has passed when thoughts of you haven't filled my mind, like whispers from the Old Gods. I find myself in the grasp of agony. The notion of being apart from you—I cannot find the breath as if a shadowcat's jaws were clamped around my chest."
Rhaella turned slightly to face her husband, whose gaze fell lost in the abyss. He continued as his voice grew hoarse, "The thought that one day, the memories of the love we shared may be as distant as the Age of Heroes, haunts me like a restless wight. A kiss you should've never gifted, for it has kindled a fire within my soul. My heart beats like the drums of war, praying that kiss will not etch itself as a scar upon my spirit. You've claimed the very depths of my soul, tormenting me like the icy winds of the Night's Watch."
Her eyes filled with tears. "You needn't worry, Aemond. I promise, no matter what happens, we will be together. In death or life, I will be at your side, always."
"I am beginning to believe the babbling prophecies of my sister. I know I informed you she was nothing more than a mad woman, but if she were right, then you could be in harms way..." he admitted, his lips pursed.
The woman's chest grew tight. Her ease from before quickly vanished, and a wave of grief settled inside her heart. "I needn't be selfish, but I have yet to live life to the fullest. I want children with you, and I desire nothing more than a life of peace and happiness. I-I refuse it to be true."
"You need not worry, my love. I shall ensure the prophecy never reaches the light of day—not for as long as I live." Aemond stiffened on the bed of grass, his hand resting on the woman's waist as he pulled her close.
