"I don't know what it was, it was like I had all the time in the world to catch the ball." Scott tells the 2 Stilinski brothers as they cross a small creak. "And that's not the only weird thing. I can hear stuff I shouldn't be able to hear. Smell things." River balances himself on a tree branch as Scott leads them through the woods humming to himself. He gasps seeing a dandelion growing from the earth next to a tree. He grabs it, placing it behind his ear before trying to catch up with the other 2 boys.

"Smell things? Like what?" Stiles asks curiously looking back making sure River was still behind them. He smiles slightly at his brother noticing the flower.

"Like the Mint Mojito gum in your pocket, and Rivers Strawberry shampoo." River shrugs as Stiles looks back at him again. Scott could have easily seen the shampoo in Rivers bathroom when he was over once.

"I don't even have any Mint Mojito..." Stiles tries to laugh it off like Scott just had a lucky guess until Stiles pulls the gum from his pocket surprising River. "So all this started with the bite?"

"Wolf bite Sti, don't forget about the wolf part." River interjects.

"What if it's like and infection what if it's like my body's flooding with adrenaline before I go into shock or something?" Scott proposes and River rolls his eyes.

"I doubt your dying Scott." River chimes in.

"Y'know what I actually think I've heard of this. It's a specific kind of infection." Scott stops walking and gives his signature lost puppy look.

"Are you serious?" Scott dumbly asks.

"Yeah, I think it's called lycanthropy." River stifles his laugh covering it up with a cough. 'Wow Scott is actually kinda dumb.' He thinks.

"What's that? Is that bad?" Scott asks his voice laced with fear and River can barely hold back the urge to laugh.

"Once every month." River looks over at his brother trying to signal him to get on with it.

"Once a month?" Scott questions it was starting to sound like Stiles was explaining periods and Riv was living for it.

"Mmm-hmm. On the night of a full moon." Stiles looks to River and on cue they mimic a wolf howling. Then they both proceed to burst out laughing.

"Guys really?" Scott gives them an unimpressed look stuffing his hands in his pockets.

"You heard the wolf howling Scotty." Stiles tells his friend as he and River walk across a fallen tree.

"Hey, there could be something seriously wrong with me." Scott tells them leading River to roll his eyes yet again, the boy had had just about enough of Scotts complaining.

"I know! your a werewolf!" Stiles growls and River laughs. "Okay obviously we're kidding." River nods in agreement. "But if you see me in shop class trying to melt all the silver I can find it's cause Fridays a full moon." Scott stops suddenly and looks around. Causing river to run into his back, a grunt escapes the older boys lips and he looks at Scott, a scowl clear on his face.

"No, I could have sworn this was it. I saw the body, the deer came running, I dropped my inhaler."

"Scott It's the woods, everything looks the same." River points out messing with his necklace. It was a habit he had picked up. He did a lot, especially when he was nervous, and being in the middle of the woods with two idiots wasn't exactly calming.

"Try to be positive, for once River." The older teen huffs and crosses his arms.

"Maybe the killer moved the body." Stiles says and River hits the back of his brothers head. River stuffs his hands in his trousers kicking around the leaves at his feet.

"If he did I hope he left my inhaler. Those things are like 80 bucks." Scott adds unfazed by the fact that the killer might have moved the dead body.

Stiles taps Rivers shoulder and hits Scott's pointing to behind them. Scott quickly stands up. A tall man probably only a couple years older then the three teens starts walking towards them a gruff look on his face.

"What are you doing here?" He asks as Stiles scratches his head. "Huh? This is private property." Rivers eyes scan the man infront of them. He couldn't be more than a couple years older than them. To say the tall brooding stranger was hot would be an understatement. He was beautiful, he had eyes the color of grass in the spring, he had bunny teeth even if he hadn't smiled since they had started talking. River had noticed his pearly white teeth when he spoke. River looked into the mans eyes to see them staring back at him he smiled slightly, a faint blush covering his cheeks at he looked at his shoes. River could have sworn he saw the man smile for a split second but it quickly vanished as Stiles spoke up.

"Uh, sorry, man, we didn't know." Derek looks at the younger teens, an unreadable expression on his face.

The man looks over at the teens annoyedly and throws Scott's inhaler at him. Scott catches it looking at it suspiciously as the man starts to walk away. "Thanks!" River calls sheepishly hearing the man grumble out a response. "Can we get going I'm going to be late for work." River try's to talk but Stiles starts talking.

"Dude, that was Derek Hale!" Stiles hits Scotts arm lightly. "You guys remember right? He's only like a few years older than us." River looks to the spot the mysterious man had been standing moments before.

"Remember what?" Scott asks tentivally.

"His family. They all burned to death in a fire like, 10 years ago." River looks at his younger brother with a slightly shocked expression. Rivers gaze falls into the part of the woods Derek had vanished to curiosity over taking him. Only one thing on his mind.

Derek Hale
