Chapter 1: Library Nerds

"Hey, I think I'll be late" Yeonjun speaks through the phone as he peeks out the window of his car "There's a random heavy traffic" he adds before leaning back on the chair with his other elbow resting on the open window

"We all know you wouldn't be late if you didn't bother buying iced coffee on the way" Taehyun replies with a sigh as he remains seated inside a quiet public library along with Hueningkai and Soobin

"I didn't!" Yeonjun argues making Y/n who sat beside him scoff as she looked at the 2 iced coffee that was placed between them, Yeonjun then frowns when all the cars ahead started to honk "I have to go tyun we'll be there in 8 minutes" he says before ending the call "Yeonjun the liar you are" Y/n speaks making a smile slowly form on the man's lips "they wouldn't mind" he replies, Y/n rolls her eyes with a laugh "I should've just gone with Beomgyu" she says with a sigh while leaning back knowing if she was with Beomgyu they would've arrived at the library faster

*tick* *tick*

Beomgyu rolls up his sleeves looking at his watch for a moment "Six water bottles" he orders with a smile

"Yah! Get lost this isn't an asylum!"

As Beomgyu grabbed the bottles he turns to the window near the exit to see a guard scolding a person who walked weirdly towards the building, it was limping "Excuse me?" the person behind him spoke making him turn with an apology before leaving, running up the stairs and to where the others were

*thud*

Yeonjun spins his keys on his finger while watching the girl get off his car "People, right?" he says referring to what they encountered earlier "I know, They're getting weirder every year" she replies while finishing her drink, and with that, they made their way inside the public library

"Guess what" Yeonjun starts as he pulls a chair beside Soobin "You bought iced coffee?" Beomgyu guesses before taking a sip from his water "Yes but while we were on our way here we saw a crowd" The older male replies, Y/n nods "What? A mob?" Taehyun asks looking up from the book he was reading, Yeonjun and Y/n look at each other for a moment "Not really. Some of them were being held down and some of them had broken bones" Y/n replies unsure "That sounds gruesome" Soobin mumbles while hugging himself

"I know right but the more I looked at it earlier the more it reminded me of you whenever you laugh" Yeonjun suddenly says, Hueningkai and Beomgyu accidentally laughing a little too loud making heads turn towards them

"Woah the ceiling is pretty" Beomgyu compliments as he looks away from embarrassment, Taehyun rolls his eyes before going back to speaking with Yeonjun

"Have you guys heard about the man in Daegu that bit a person?" Y/n speaks making the others look "huh?" Beomgyu hums before leaning over her shoulder to look at her phone "Yeah I read about that" Taehyun replies "Isn't that weird?" she adds letting Beomgyu take her phone from her hand "It is, but for all I know that guy probably wants clout" Taehyun replies "Don't tell me you're afraid of a bite?" Yeonjun teases before laughing, she rolls her eyes "Hyung can you help me here" Hueningkai whispers to Soobin while pointing to a problem

"If I were you I'd ask Taehyun instead you've got a 5% chance of passing that homework if you ask for Soobin's help" Beomgyu comments "You don't get to talk Beomgyu you barely passed your classes" Soobin argues "What's that? I passed my math subject? You didn't? now why would you mention that" Beomgyu replies with a pout earning an eye roll and making him laugh "Hyung" Hueningkai gives up on Soobin and turns to Yeonjun who was drinking water

"What subject are you on?" Y/n peeks over Taehyun's shoulder "Science" He replies looking at her for a moment before turning back to his book

"I am sorry but this is a library, not a court" A lady spoke as she approached them "Sorry" Beomgyu and Soobin immediately bowed

*Thud*

*Slam*

The group only continued to mind their own business as the sound continued downstairs

Taehun sighs as he sets his book down and runs a hand through his hair "What is it with people downstairs" he complains quietly, Beomgyu shrugs as he rocks back in his chair while on his phone. Taehyun peeks out the aisle they were in to look at the lady who sat inside a counter only to find she wasn't there

*Slam*

Taehyun flinches when he heard a loud slam behind him "Yah!" he scolds before turning around only to freeze

The chair Beomgyu was seated on was on the ground, The pencil Hueningki held was rolling freely on the table, Yeonjun's water was left half empty on the table, Y/n's phone was left open beside Taehyun's science book, Soobin's jacket lightly swaying while it hung on the chair he used to sit on.

Taehyun felt cold air blow against him as he realized they were all gone...

"H...Hyung?" He whispers weakly

The light music that played on y/n's phone got louder as it slowly started to echo through his ears

Taehyun covered his ears before turning around and seeing

A lifeless body...
