-----Alex's P.O.V-----
It had only been five days and everyone already knew about Sebastian's cheating and, more specifically, how it had been affecting you. Whether it was Pierre saying you were only bringing crops every other day, Sam saying you wouldn't answer any of his calls or texts to hang out, or Vincent whining that you hadn't put any bait in the crab pots outside of his house for him to catch snails. And yet no one went to the farm to check on you. No one wanted to upset you, everyone just chalking up your behavior to needing space. Well, almost everybody.
"But then she told me that they don't carry that brand of dry shampoo anymore and I was like, 'uh, what do you want me to do? If I shower every time my scalp gets oily in the summer I'll get dry split ends and breakage!' So anyway I took the bus to a different city to try something else and-""Haley!" Alex interrupted Haley's rant, "That's cool and all, but I asked you if you knew anything about Y/n?" He asked as nicely as he could.
"The farmer? Oh ya! Poor thing, can you imagine that? Finding the person you love messing with your best friend the night before your wedding? That's why I stay away from weird ass freak girls like that, they're always trying to get with everyone else's boyfriend and can't keep-"
"Ya Haley I know what happened but is she okay?" Alex asked, slowly losing his mind.
"Probably, I mean she gets to say she stole the farmer's man and the farmer's like rich and stuff so-"
"The farmer Haley! Not Abigail! Is the Farmer okay?!" Alex groaned.
"Ohhhhhh! Ya no definitely not. If that ever happened to me I'd kill myself." She said, taking a sip of her morning smoothie. Alex's eyes widened.
"Really?"
"Oh ya. I mean who wouldn't?" Haley said, oblivious to Alex's panic. Alex stood up and grabbed his phone and keys.
"Wait, where are you going?"
"I'm just gonna go check on her, just in case she's dead...." Alex muttered as he walked to the door.
"God I hope not, I read online that dead people smell absolutely horrendous and that the smell can contaminate your skin." Alex rolled his eyes and walked out, closing the door behind him. He walked down the path, past the houses and Marnie's ranch, and up through the hills to your farm. He immediately noticed that weeds were everywhere and it looked like some of the fences needed some TLC. He looked around and his eyes finally landed on you, trying desperately to pull some parsnips out of the ground.
-------Your P.O.V------
You growled and cursed under your breath, trying desperately to pull this parsnip up. You heard footsteps approaching you.
"Not now Hendrix, I'm trying to work!"
"Okay, but I'm not Hendrix." Alex said from behind you. You squeaked and jumped slightly, making Alex laugh.
"Do you need something?" You sighed as you stood up. Alex shoved his hands in his pockets.
"I just wanted to make sure you were feeling okay. Everyone around town is saying that you're-"
"I'm fine. Now if you'll excuse me I have crops to harvest." You said, cutting Alex off and turning back to that stubborn parsnip. You struggled with it for a few more moments before Alex knelt down next to you and pulled it out one handed.
