"What have you become?"

You stumbled through the castle, a large pile of books in hand. You promised a student you'd return them on their behalf, so that they could make the quidditch try outs on time. You didn't want to be the reason they missed out on such an opportunity, but it was exhausting.

Carefully, you made your way up the little stone staircase, towards Sebastian's office. It was a weekend, so there was no reason to assume he'd be there. But you were wrong.

With your free hand you pushed open the door, which hit right into something as it swung open. Quickly realising it was actually someone, you scrambled to apologise.

"Oh! I'm so sorry!" You said behind the pile of books in your hands, reaching way above your head. "I didn't mean to interrupt, I can come back another time-"

"It's okay, I was just leaving." A voice replied, rather uncomfortably. It was Ostara. She pushed past you, bags in hand. "It was good to see you again, MC," she muttered before stepping down the staircase and out of the room.

"I, I'll just put these here," you stuttered, assuming Sebastian was at his desk.

"Go ahead," his voice replied.

You placed down the books and darted straight out of the door. The energy in that room was uncomfortable, but something made you turn back.

Reappearing at the door frame, you mustered up the courage to speak, trying to find the right words to ease the awkwardness that lingered in the air.

"I don't know what I just walked into... but I am here for you, if you need to talk about anything,"

Sebastian looked up from his writing and gave you a soft smile, his eyes shadowed with pain.

"I'll leave you too it," you smiled, turning back out of the door.

"MC-" he said, reeling you back in. "Thank you."

Night had fallen, and you still had a pile of books needing to be returned, thankfully this was the last batch that only needed dropping off at the library, so you set off to do so while the students were in bed.

Arriving at the library you slammed the books down, you could have just left them there to be organised by the librarian, but you weren't like that. One by one you picked up each book and returned them to their proper homes. In all honesty, you found it rather relaxing, you could have gone all night.

Your bliss was interrupted by a dash of light in the corner of your eye, coming from the restricted section. It seemed that you were not alone after all. You set your book down and went in to investigate, expecting to find a student sneaking around, just like you did.

The restricted section was like a never ending maze, but it seemed all of those forbidden trips there actually came in handy, as you knew the way around like the back of your hand.

You turned, the light of your wand illuminating the shadow of a figure standing in the far corner. You stepped closer, as the light revealed this midnight bandit.

It was Sebastian. Of course it was.

"What a surprise to see you here," he peered at you.

"I thought you were a student, I came here to scold you," you teased.

"What have you become?" He grinned, chuckling to himself.

You couldn't help but find yourself grinning with him. The two of you together again in the restricted section? What were the chances?

"What exactly are you doing here at this hour anyway? You're a professor now, you can visit at any time you know? You're allowed," you investigated.
