Chapter 5

After Selene was discharged from the hospital, she overheard Lucas and Ross talking about something

"But you have to attend it with her," says Lucas

"I don't like her at all. Besides, she's annoying" said Ross

"Then how do you plan to go to the gala WITHOUT a date," asked Lucas

"Who said I don't have a date?" said Ross

Just then, as Selene was trying to hear his date, she slipped as the door opened and they saw her, an awkward silence filled the room. Selene instantly got on her feet and mumbled

"I-I didn't hear a thing! Nothing! I don't care about your date either! Ha, Ha, Ha!" 

Ross cleared his throat and said,

"I was going to explain you the situation but good you came here yourself and I assume you heard everything too?"

Selene just looked down at the floor in embarrassment

"Well then, Be my date for the Gala Event." Says Ross leaving both Selene and Lucas stunned

"Such confidence!" Thinks Lucas to himself

"Why should I?" Says Selene which shocks both Ross and Lucas

"Such confidence again!" He thinks again

"You said we are friends. And friends should help each other" says Ross

"You- Fine... But why me?" Asked Selene

"You are my friend right-" says Ross but Selene interrupts saying,

"Liar"

"Okay, it's because you are not scared or obsessed with me... To put it simply, a responsible girl" says Ross

"Okay fair." Says Selene as she leaves the room

                    THE GALA NIGHT

"Ross, I'm coming in!" Says Selene as she opens the door only to find Ross in tux with an eye mask

"You look beautiful" said Ross looking at her in a beautiful red gown

"You look amazing too... You are wearing an eye mask too..." Says Selene

"I only wear it when I'm going to meet my uncle, but it would leave a good impression" said Ross

"I see... Oh by the way, any special tips or rules that I must follow?" Asked Selene

"Yes there are, 1st - If someone approaches you and asks about your relationship with me, just say You're close friend of Lucas
2nd - If a blonde girl approaches you and starts interrogating you, just handle the situation like you normally do
Well that's all for now" says Ross

"Ok sir!" Says Selene

"Oh and keep this with you" says Ross as he hands her a fully loaded gun.

"Umm... You do know I don't have a good aim right?" Said Selene with nervousness

"Fine, take this too then" Ross tossed a mini knife in her hands

"Why do i l even need this stuff?" Asked Selene

"You need to learn self-defense" said Ross

"But-" before Selene could reply, Lucas called for them

"Guys! Your ride is here"

They both got to the venue and Ross looked at Selene to check it she's nervous but she looked more than confident

"Are you ready?" Asked Ross

"Yep!" Replied Selene as they went in.
