The last thing that Seiran had ever wanted from life was to get attached to others – it was both the bane and boon of her existence, somehow, simultaneously. She had been told by her grandmother that feelings were unnecessary and the only thing that she must focus on was her duty as the future Priestess. Seiran had been rebellious to that and now she was reaping the consequences of her actions.
Yet here she was – Seiran had relented to the pressures of others and allowed in her life the presence of young children, whether that be her niece Shion, the orphans Megumi and Tsumiki, the cursed Yuta or the young students at the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College. She loved the energy of young children yet she could not handle seeing them in pain.
It reminded her of all the young Jujutsu Sorcerers she had seen pass away all her life. From the day she gained conscious and spent her days under her grandmother's supervision to now her own Priesthood – she had grown up but that young age had persisted over the past twenty-five years.
Many lovestruck girls had told Seiran that they were certain Satoru could speak with his eyes and convince them of the unfeasible. Seiran had always told them these were delusional misgivings but now she wondered why she was getting swept around in this business so easily by the insufferable man.
"Are you heading out again today, Higanbana-Sama?" inquired Miho, the lady-in-waiting that now had gained some confidence in her ability in serving Seiran. "When shall I expect you back?"
"Yes, I am heading out," Seiran confirmed as she gently pulled on her red Haori on top of her dark Kimono. "I will be back by later this evening, expect me to be home after dinner at most,"
"Are you meeting Gogo-San again?" asked Miho tentatively, and as Seiran glanced at her from the corner of her eyes, the woman blushed deeply. "I-I mean, h-he's always showing up..."
"As a matter of fact, yes, I am meeting Satoru-Kun," Seiran replied, removing her eyes from the older woman. "Is something the matter, Miho-San? What is with the nervous wiggling of your thumbs?"
"N-Nothing!" Miho squeaked before lowering her head in embarrassment. "I apologise... I was just curious if you were going on a dinner with him... he appears to think very fondly of you,"
"I find him quite stifling at times, if I must admit," Seiran commented, causing Miho to chuckle lightly. "He is very overbearing, and I am sure the idea would delight him but I am not going on a dinner with him. I do have to meet him at Tokyo Jujutsu High, however,"
For some reason, Miho seemed very happy that Seiran was going to go meet Satoru again. It was strange but Seiran did not question it. However, Lady Naoki was not very quiet about her opinions over the Priestess meeting up with the egotistical white-haired heir of the Gojo Clan so much.
"You are going to meet him third time this week, Higanbana-Sama," Lady Noaki stated. "Is there something that I must be aware of? Are you, perhaps, courting the man?"
"No," Seiran replied, feeling the eyes of Shion as the young girl peered around the corner to the corridor. "We have official business at Tokyo Jujutsu High,"
"I see," Lady Naoki said. "I have no desire to thwart your actions but I must present my concerns about the implications of your constant meetings with Gojo Satoru-San. Not to mention, your decision to involve yourself in the case of Okkotsu Yuta. You do realise that these associations have a negative impact on your future?"
"If it is about marriage, then I would like to not continue this conversation," Seiran responded. "I have no plans on marrying, and I have no plans on marrying Satoru-Kun, either. It is ten years too late that we must continue on the topic,"
