SHE CRIED, clutching the hospital bed with tears falling down her cheeks and dropping onto the floor. his body stayed still, hearing but ignoring her sobs of pain as his lengthy eyelashes grazed the black bags under his eyes.
she lowered his hand between both of hers, shakily raising his fingers to her cheek to feel him one last time. "please, don't go," she sniffles, making an effort to hush her cries until she suddenly let out a choked sob and started letting out crying once more, hiccups flowing out every two seconds.
and then, the machine beside the hospital bed played a long beep instead of its usual, very short one.
your crying grew louder and you wiped your tears away with the back of your hand, sniffling from your nose as itto shot you a look beside you. he turns the tv off with one hand, patting you on the back with the other.
"damn, did it hit you that hard?" he laughs, before immediately piping down and clearing his throat at the teary glare you sent in his way.
"ugh, itto shut up," you groan, standing up and nearly falling due to your legs being wobbly from how long you were sitting. "i have to go to a lecture, you gonna be alright here?"
he nods, humming a loud, "mhm!" as he puts his feet on the table and reaches for the bag of chips with one hand, and the other for the remote that was resting on the armrest.
you nod, pushing his calves using your knees to get his feet off the table. "also, don't put your feet anywhere," you scold, rolling your eyes. "you'll get your germs all over the place!"
he laughs, chips in his hand and mouth. "yeah, yeah. bye, [name]!" he shouts, his voice inaudible and words weirdly said due to the salty food he was taking in. you roll your eyes and begin walking out of your dorm while opening the door.
