"Hey sis! I'm home!"
"Great job, smartass... You know we could've gotten lucky and she'd be a sleep right now." Although, that would just be wishful thinking.
It may be late, but this is one of Cassandra's work days. She's definitely up.
"Eh, I've already accepted the mouthful I'm about to receive. Better do it now."
I'm gonna get dragged into this aren't I?
...shit.
I could just drop Galan now and leave him to his fate. Turn the other way and leave him on the clean floor tiles right here, it's better than the pavement in that dirt alley.
I'm sure he'd sleep well too.
"Mouthful you're about to receive? What did you do now?" Her voice is close by, ...and definitely sounds awake.
Ah crap...
Her footsteps are getting closer, I can already guess that she's scowling before she turns the corner to see us. "Here comes your fate." I whisper to him.
"Seraph? Galan dragged you into another one of his bullshit parties didn't he-" She's finally reached us, getting a full view of both of us.
And Galan's bruised face.
"Shit, Galan..." She sighs, a rising hint of anger, but also worry emanates from her voice. "The hell were doing!?"
"I-it wasn't my fault this time... Mostly wasn't my fault this time."
Galan's attempt to defend himself might not go well. I should step in and help him.
It'll be the second time I save this idiot today.
"Mostly!?" Yeah, he's definitely fucked.
"I can vouch for him." I interject, "Galan didn't start any fight." ...As far as I know.
Cassandra seems to calm a bit with me saying that, at least knowing that her brother wasn't the instigater of what happened to him.
I should probably not tell her that he made the altercation worse by talking shit to the thugs.
"I did make it worse by talking shit though..."
...Dumbass.
I just sigh in defeat.
"Galan..." Cassandra sighs as well, she looks as done with this, as I am. "Just... get some sleep, I'll deal with this tomorrow."
"But it's already tomorrow." He points to my wristwatch, it's a few minutes past midnight.
"Do you want me to add another bruise to your face? Go. And. Sleep." She glares at Galan's smug, bruised up expression.
I decide to walk to the direction leading to Galan's bedroom, before the man I'm giving a piggyback ride to utters another word.
"And Seraph..."
I stop, turning to look at where Cassandra is standing. She's still glaring at Galan.
"You can just drop him as soon as you step foot into his room. I'm sure he'll be fine crawling to his bed."
"Love you too, sis." Galan chuckles, muttering the words under his breath, still audible enough for her to hear.
"Love you too..." She sighs, and walks away from us.
There's a sad look to her expression, before she completely turns her back to us.
It doesn't seem like Galan noticed it.
"Hey, BuddyGuard. My bed if you may..." He orders me with a posh-sounding British accent. Beckoning me to his room.
I huff out an annoyed breath. "Sure... your dipshit highness." I continue to resume my walk.
I'm really contemplating about dropping this man to the floor...
