Before Giyuu's 23rd birthday he suddenly coughed blood and was bedridden
Sanemi was worried about Giyuu so he was the one taking care of him.
Everything was going fine and Giyuu was slowly recovering...
But one day he suddenly fainted while walking and Sanemi came running because he heard a loud thud.
There he saw Giyuu laying on the floor unconscious.
He then picked him up and was bringing Giyuu to the butterfly manshion
But on the way
Giyuu was barely able to breathe..
Giyuu slowly opened his eyes and told Sanemi to stop and said "I'm sorry for relying on you till the end"
Sanemi said " Don't you dare say that, you know that seeing you rely on me made me happy so don't you dare say that and don't die on me"
" I'm sorry Sanemi but my time has come and I love you" said Giyuu
"H-hey don't die on me I-i love you too" said Sanemi while crying and hugging Giyuu..
"Sanemi I'll wait for you and please tell Tanjiro that I'm sorry for leaving him" Giyuu said and smiled as tears were rolling down his face
"Thank you for giving me a reason to live Sanemi" said Giyuu as he slowly closed his eyes and took his last breath in Sanemi's arms
