Lena

I wish I was a princess. It's not fair some girls get to live in a castle while I've only felt suffering in Wool's orphanage.

I started to light a cigarette by a window in the Slytherin common room. I wasn't able to open it considering we were in the Black Lake, but thankfully nobody ever seems to mind.

"Lena! You gotta see this. Pans can touch her nose using her tongue!" Theo said, pulling my arm.

I was pulled to the other side of the common room where my lovely friends were sitting, probably laughing about something stupid.

"Lena! Look what I can do!" Pansy said, sticking her tongue out to touch the tip of her nose.

"Merlin's beard! Give it rest Pansy, you've probably shown everyone in Hogwarts by now!" Draco exclaimed, looking exasperated. He's always in a grumpy mood nowadays I thought, taking a drag from my cigarette.

"Don't talk to her that way, Draco! You've been cranky all day. What is wrong with you? Did Granger get a higher score in one of your classes or something?" Daphne asks, rubbing her arm down Pansy's arm.

"No, I bet he's upset he didn't get to torment his boyfriend, Potter, today." Blaise said, high-giving Theo as they cackled.

"Oh, fuck both of you!" Draco said, crossing his arms and pouting. He was such a baby.

"Aw, you gonna tell your daddy what they said, Draco?" I said, giving him a teasing smirk. Blaise and Theo doubled over in laughter which led to Pansy and Daphne doing the same.

"I don't know why I hang out with you lot when I just get bullied all day." Draco grumbled. "If you must know, my father was just being an arse before we came to Hogwarts."

It was only the second day of our fourth year and Draco's father was already at the front of his mind. The rest of the group all nodded their heads, understanding where he was coming from, since they were all in the same boat. Being a teenager, especially a child of a death eater was hard. At least that's what I heard. I'm an orphan so I can't relate. I can't say if it's better or not than living in Wool's.

In Wool's, I had to choose my own name at a young age because I was never given one from my parents nor the orphanage. The only thing I knew was that my family abandoned me and couldn't even be bothered to give me a name. I chose Lena Ventura. I didn't know why I chose my first name to be Lena, I just thought it was pretty when I first saw it in a book, but I chose my last name very meticulously. It took me a while, looking through many books to get an inkling of what I wanted before I found what I was looking for. Ventura meant fate in Latin.

I believed in fate greatly. I was a strong believer in the saying 'everything happens for a reason.' I used to put my trust in the universe, but it was unfortunate for me that the universe had it out for me.

"You're such an idiot. She doesn't want you, get that through your fat head." Draco told Blaise, smacking him on the head.

Blaise was probably talking about this random Ravenclaw he liked, but we all knew she wanted nothing to do with him.

To be frank, I don't know what I would do without them all these years. I've known them since first year and we've been inseparable since. We're even called the Slytherin Six by many of the students here. Draco and I thought the name was stupid, Pansy, Daphne, and Blaise thought it was funny, and Theo actually liked the name. I'm not sure why he thinks the way he does sometimes, but we love him either way.
