Chapter 7 - Off to the party!

The two looked around in the mall, it was a bit empty with a few exceptions of people here and there but the mall was mostly quiet. Horror and Lust looked around, practically stumbling into a new world with each step. Horror was panicking, sweat dripping down his face. Lust noticed this and he spoke up, "Hey, what's wrong?".

"Do you have any ideas of what to give someone on their birthday?" He asked and Lust looked at him in disbelief. Was Horror serious? "Are you serious?" Lust asked, trying to see if this was a joke but it wasn't. "No?" Horror replied, not even sure with his answer. The two fell into silence as they realized what situation the taller was in.

Lust was completely taken aback. He had no words for Horror and Horror tried his best to think of atleast something. "Who's birthday are you going to?" Lust asked, wanting to help Horror as he did in the past. "Well...It's Dust's." Horror said, desperate for advice. Lust thought for a moment, what would be a thoughtful gift? I mean he didn't know Dust too much so he wouldn't know what worth a thing is in his eyes. "Hmm... What kind of stuff does he like?" Lust asked in a gentle voice and Horror thought for a moment.

"Well two things are for sure. He's addicted to nicotine and he goes with the flow, we don't really- wait... I may be exposing him but he's had a crush on blue for a while." Horror said, realizing something. Lust perked up at that, a special someone? Hm~ Now this was the department Lust was good at. "Ooh~ who's Blue?" Lust asked and Horror replied "He's one of the star sanses and he's this cute short skeleton, he's about the same as you- I...".
Horror stopped, did he just...

"Hmm, a simple teddy bear would be fair to give cause I think I heard of Blue, is he that guy Dust talks to on the phone in the dungeon?" Lust asks again and Horror hummed in response, indicating that Lust's suspicions were correct. "Then let's just buy a simple teddy bear because Augh! Hearing them talk on the phone was really cuute! It really makes my day!" Lust squeeled and Horror smiled, not aware of his growing feelings.

"The teddies are over that section." Lust says as he pointed to a location and Horror followed. The two continued towards their goal and they finally reached it. The stuffed animal section! The two of them looked around, seeing some different varieties of stuffed animals. They varied from elephants, cats, and bears but one in particular caught Horror's attention...

"Holy shit." Horror muttered and Lust looked down, confused. "What did you find?" Lust asks and Horror slowly began to walk towards a shelf. He stared at two stuffed bunnies before his eyes widened. "Those bunnies look exactly like Dust and Blue!" Horror exclaimed and Lust immediately turned his head at the direction Horror was looking at. He saw the two bunnies and smiled, although it wasn't what he had in mind it was cute enough. Horror quickly snatched the bunny and gave it to Lust before they started walking towards the cashier.

As they were drawing close to the cashier, a ring came from Horror's pockets. Horror stopped and quickly answered the call, leaving Lust confused again.

"I told you to come and help Killer out. Where are you anyway?" A dark voice spilled from the call and Horror could feel himself sweat as he heard the tone. "...Forgive me Boss, I was just buying a present." Horror replied, his tone sounding submissive and pathetic. Lust witnessed this happening and it made him sick to his stomach. He couldn't intervene in anyway and it made him nervous.

Silence could be heard from the phone until the dark voice spoke again "Just be quick... Don't be too late or-,", "You'll loose your soul-rate." Horror said, interupting but also continuing Nightmare's sentence. "Good." The dark skeleton on the phone replied before hanging up. It seemed that this wasn't the first time this happened.

Horror quickly arrived at the counter and Lust gave the bunnies to Horror to get scanned. The teenage cashier looked up to them weirdly before quickly looking down and scanning the stuffed animals, he was terrified..

That hole... how was that cutie on top not scared?

The cashier quickly but diligently placed their stuff inside a paper bag and made sure to staple it properly. He did not want any beef with a 6 foot skeleton. "W-w-w-w-what c-color r-ib-bon would you like s-sir?" He asked the two with fear in his voice. Since it was the beginning of February, A.K.A The month of "Love" as people around called it. It was in protocol to ask the costumer what color ribbon they wanted.

Horror thought for a while, thinking of a good color to pick. He wasn't really the master of remembering colors' names. "How about cyan?" Lust asked and Horror looked up, he nodded a yes awkwardly and the cashier continued his job. He handed back the paper bag with a tiny cyan ribbon and the two left the vicinity. Smiling and relieved as they did.

When they reached outside, Horror opened a portal back to his AU and the two stepped in to find themselves at the taller's home. It was light out and Lust could feel the shower of snowflakes falling upon his face. He smiled as he looked up, but it didn't last long. Horror placed Lust down on the porch and he could still see the look of surprise on the smaller's face.

Lust looked up at Horror's face and only smiled as he handed the bag to Horror. "Here, don't make your boss wait for too long." He said as he stretched out his arms to make Horror grab the paper bag but, something happened to Horror. He stared blankly at Lust, sweating real hard and in his mind, he couldn't comprehend what he was feeling.

His body was suddenly hot? But it's snowing... Why was he sweating? Isn't it cold here? He didn't want to leave? But it's his bestie's birthday...

"Are you okay? Your sweating a lot." Lust asked, genuinely confused and concerned. I mean Horror just stood there staring at him for 5 minutes straight. Horror said nothing but grabbed the paper bag before turning around, he quickly rushed to leave and he walked right into a portal he had created for himself, leaving Lust just standing outside with no footwear whatsoever.

Lust shrugged and thought about Horror's expression and the way he had been acting, he found it really adorable and he wished he had seen that expression more. Suddenly, a growl came from his none existent stomach and Lust, with embarrassment, headed inside to go feed himself.

As Lust headed to Horror's room, Horror was running towards the doors of his boss's castle. Hoping that he wouldn't get his ass in trouble for being this late...

He knocked on the door nervously before standing there looking like an idiot. He was sweating a lot, anxiety practically filling his skull to the brim. He had no excuse for being this late and the "buying a present" one kind of sounded stupid in his mind. He was waiting there, anticipating for atleast something. Then the door opened and the skeleton with a gaping hole in his skull was met with his monochromatic co-worker.

Horror was relieved when he saw it was Cross, he actually thought that Nightmare would open the door with a fucking whip in his hand. Cross quietly gestured for Horror to come in and the fellow did so. Cross quietly shut the door and the two started heading towards a random direction, Horror's thoughts not mine.
