We got so beat, it wasn't even funny. A Side totally creamed us, and then they defeated B Side. C Side took last place.
"I can't believe we totally lost," Peyton complained. "I wish you would have let me play with you guys."
"Sorry, Peyton," Marcus said, "but the rest of us guys don't think you should have."
"Why?"
"Um," said Harley. "Because, well, we just didn't want you to get hurt."
Peyton slugged him in the arm. "I'll hurt you, monkey boy."
"Whatever," said Pete. "It's fine, honestly. If anything, B Side is left behind. They haven't been successful in anything so far."
"I guess so," Asia said, "although I still think you could have tried harder, Pete."
He frowned. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"Well, I thought you were great, Pete," I interrupted.
Asia shot a warning glance at me, but I didn't mind.
