Everything continued as normal for three more months. Dimentio grew more and more comfortable with his new situation, so long as the man in green was by his side. On top of that, he even earned the title of "Dimentio, Charming Magician," amongst the royals because of his impressive acts.
It was the second Tuesday of yet another month, and the mechanic was talking of his dreams of flying away once again. He then turned to Dimentio and asked him what he dreamed of.
It made Dimentio stop for a moment because all his dreams weren't just normal dreams. They were visions. He never really just sat and thought about what he would like to happen. It wasn't the kind of dreaming he did.
He almost said that he dreamed of the man in green, which was true. He dreamt of him often. So many visions and prophecies were centered around him. But, he couldn't talk about those visions with him. Those visions were for the book.
"I'm not sure," Dimentio admitted.
"Oh, come on. You can do better than that," the man in green chuckled. "What do you want out of life? I mean, you can't plan on staying here forever."
"Why not? It's not so bad. You're here."
He won't always be.
Dimentio visibly shivered, trying to push the dark thoughts away.
"...My dream is to live in a perfect world," Dimentio finally said, turning his gaze toward the sky. "A world... with no betrayal. No illnesses. Just perfection."
"No illnesses sounds nice," the mechanic smiled. "And how will you make this perfect world?"
"I don't know. I can't make it here, though," Dimentio admitted. "Maybe... maybe I can fly away with you. Then, once we're free, we can make it together."
He thought back to the visions he kept having. In each vision, each prophecy, the man in green was key in both the sides of light and dark. So... perhaps running away with him someday really could work.
"I think that would be wonderful," the man in green smiled.
Dimentio smiled in return, the golden hue of his eyes sparkling as they crinkled slightly at the corners.
"Maybe we could have a butterfly farm too!" the man in green added. "So your pet can have friends."
"Not a pet," Dimentio laughed, nodding back at Trivia, who was fluttering around one of the patches of flowers they had passed.
"Friend then?"
Dimentio was about to shake his head, but something stopped him.
Back home, Benjamin was the only one to actually consider Pixls friends. But... well, Dimentio wasn't quite sure what to think. Trivia had stuck by him all this time, even though she was kinda required to.
"I don't know."
"I think yes!" he teased, nudging his elbow into Dimentio's side. "She's my friend, after all. Like you! You're both my friends! How do you spell friend?"
"F-R-I-E-N-D," Dimentio answered with a smile.
The man in green had never actually gone to school, so he had no idea how to read or write. Dimentio never went to school either, but his father taught him everything he needed to know. Sometimes, the mechanic would ask how certain things were spelled. He was very good at memorizing, so he usually only had to ask once per word. Honestly, the lack of reading and writing skills never bothered Dimentio. If anything, it made the fact that he was a mechanic all the more impressive.
"F-R-I-E-N-D. Friend!" the man in green laughed. "I L-O-V-E my F-R-I-E-N-Ds!"
"I L-O-V-E my F-R-I-E-N-Ds too," Dimentio replied.
