Ink doesn't knew what to expect as he rushes to make a portal. Blue had sounded shaken, something the ex-guardsman almost never, and even though he's still getting used to the whole soul and emotions thing (he's only had a soul for the last century or so, afterall) he knows that that's concerning. He's just grateful that Fate's tug on his soul has dissipated, the closest thing to approval for his actions that he's gonna get.
Blind and somewhat wishing that he hadn't hung up so quickly, the balance watcher paints a portal into existence, hopping from world to world towards the Antivoid. He's glad that his job at least has benefits like knowing what Aus are where- otherwise he would get lost in an instant and his 'ditzy' reputation would only continue grow.
Not that that matters, he scolds himself for getting distracted before putting on a smile as he finally makes it to the right world.
"Hey, Blue! I'm here-"
As soon as Ink opens his eyes he sees what must be the reason he was called over. His words die on his lips and his face goes slack as he registers the new presence.
Across the expanse of white (he numbly feels like a bit of an idiot for coming out of his portal with his back to the meeting place), there is a giant creature lying still in a puddle of a deep blue liquid seeping out from whatever it is.
"Oh."
"Ink!"
In an instant Blue appears besides him, making the artist jump. The other balance watcher looks shell shocked (though he supposed he might be) and Ink's glad he got there quickly- even if he can't identity part of his friend's expression.
" Hey, Blue! I, uh, see why you called!"
"Yeah- good to know that I'm not the only one who can see it"
"Me too, that would be concerning"
Ink laughs nervously, shifting from foot to foot like an idiot for a moment before deciding on a course of action.
"They're in pretty bad shape, though, huh?"
Blue nodded solemnly
"Yeah, they need help."
Ink glances over at the worried guardsman with a soft smile, now recognizing the way Blue's worry must be fighting against a fear not unlike the one Ink even feels thrumming in even his veins. He smiles at the satisfaction of figuring the puzzle out before turning his attention back to the creature he's already dedicated himself to aiding.
The creature doesn't seem to be a threat (at least right now) and Blue's call makes sense now that he knows healing is involved. Plus, the creator knows that he is nothing if not reckless and if anyone is going to be able to approach this giant beast it's probably going to be him. Blue's tactical even when his infamous bleeding heart is involved and Ink preens at the idea that he's seen as helpful by such a monster.
"Then I'm going to help them! "
He bumps his arm gently against his friend's before taking the first step forwards. It's a good thing that he learned how to ignore those stupid 'self preservation instincts' a long time ago because otherwise he would be terrified right now. If he hadn't learned to ignore his hody's screaming he would run in the other direction or simply take a few steps before freezing but he has learned how to ignore those pesky feelings and he can just grip his paintbrush at his side and plaster a nervous smile on his face. Here goes nothing.
It takes a surprisingly long time for him to grow close enough to get a better look at the dragon, though he can't help but notice the way that the creature seems to only get bigger with every step, too. He also can't help but grow more and more concerned as he starts to be able to make out details. Both concerned for himself because this thing is threatening as all hell, and for the creature because whatever's going on with it can not be healthy.
