Kyle wakes up feeling warm. Which is odd, as he's sleeping in a hole in the ground under a bush.

He doesn't think much of it until he hears a crash.

Scrambling out from under the bush, he stares around to see the trees on fire. Next to him is a huge branch that has fallen off, most likely the cause of the sound.

He doesn't really think before running away.

Jumping over fallen branches and past burning leaves he makes his way through the forest.

He accidentally brushes against a bush on fire, letting out a pained groan.

Finally, after what feels like an eternity (yet probably being only a minute) Kyle finds a river. He jumps into it without a second thought. The cold water hitting his burned shoulder feels agonising at first, and then it feels like a blessing.

Letting out a relieved sigh, he closes his eyes and lets the cold water cool off his burn. It doesn't do much other than lessen the pain, he knows that. He would need medicine to fix the wound, and that's something he doesn't have.

"Haha! Yeah, dude! Tolkien would definitely win that fight!" Someone laughs.

Kyle freezes. There's the sound of snapping twigs and footsteps against the ground as a group of people walk not far away from the river.

Kyle stays as still and silent as he can, staring as the people become visible. He realises then, with a shiver, that it's Stan's group. They're laughing at each other, being very loud. They obviously don't care about being heard.

One thing Kyle notices, is Stan. He seems completely out of it, as he walks a bit behind the group. He's staring at his feet, not joining in on the conversation.

"Hey, Loverboy!" Cartman calls over his shoulder. "Keep up."

Stan speeds up slightly, but he's still lagging behind.

Kyle stays as still as he can in the water. Stan's group is close, and he does not want to risk them seeing him.

"Hey, guys, there's a river here. We should take a break and fill up our water bottles." Tolkien suggests, and Cartman seems to agree.

Crap. Kyle thinks. They'll definitely see me then.

"Hey guys?" Stan speaks, and points at the forest Kyle came from. "I think there's a fire."

"Oh, shit! We gotta get away, it's coming closer." Cartman exclaims, and then they're gone, just like that.

Kyle feels relief for a split second and then it's replaced by fear. The fire is growing, and moving rapidly towards him. He splashes out of the water and disappears into the forest where the others went.

.

Stan breathes heavily beside the rest of his group. They're far enough away from the fire now, and can safely take a rest.

"Jesus fucking Christ," Cartman groans, and lays down in the grass. He's the one struggling most after the running.

Stan rolls his eyes. He doesn't say anything though, because he's just as exhausted. He's about to sit down in the grass as well, when he hears rustling behind him.

Someone stumbles out from the bush, panting from running. The familiar red hair and freckles makes Stan's heart skips a beat.

Kyle freezes when he realises he isn't alone. "Uh-"

"Stan! It's your boyfriend!" Cartman smirks mockingly.

"Shut up, dude. Don't you dare touch him." Stan stands up, despite his legs feeling like they'll break any moment.

Kyle seems extremely exhausted, where he stands, legs shaking. Stan feels sorry for him, but there's nothing he can do.

"Why not? He's an easy target." Cartman says.

"Are you sure we should kill him? Didn't you say they could get us sponsors?" Clyde speaks up.

"No. I hate him. Tolkien, shoot him."

"What? No, I agree with Clyde, dude." Tolkien protests.

"I don't care! If you don't shoot him, I'll take the bow and do it myself!" Cartman threatens, standing up.

"Okay, then! I'm not killing him." Tolkien shrugs.

Stan wants to protest but there's nothing he can do. He can only stand there and watch as Cartman reaches for Tolkiens bow.

Unless he wants to be killed, Stan is powerless.

... But he can't just stand there and watch.

Cartman gets ready to shoot.

Fuck.

Stan barges into him, knocking the fatass over. He drops the bow and it falls to the ground.
