Kennedy: ace of spades

Chapter one

"Kennedy Ada Quinn! You get your ass up here right now!" A voice boomed from the 1st floor. I threw a pillow over her head. "Five more Minutes..." The door to the basement flew open as my  Aunt rushed down the steps. My aunt who had  with long brown waves and was wearing nurse scrubs came down. "Keys, you get out of bed this instant." I pulled the covers closer. "Nooo Chrissy I don't want to get up..".     Chrissy walked over towards a closet on the far end of the room and opened it. 
"It is your first day at sky high. I need you to be on time."    I rolled out of bed. Literally, i fell to floor and groaned. I rolled my eyes and  walked over to wear Chrissy was standing grabbing some clothes.

After throwing the clothes and a benie I walks up stairs her side bag hanging off of her shoulder.  My  long white hair braided to the side.   I walked the somewhat long staircase that lead to the main floor. (I live in the basement).  I reached the door which was decorated with posters of all sorts and punk stickers.  I  opened the door and walked into the spacious kitchen.  The kitchen was decorated with Very modern designs and gorgeous rose patterns that decorated the upper areas of the kitchen. I briskly walked over to the table. A girl with long blonde curls sat eating wafflefs at the table. "Barbie, get out of my seat right now."   The girl looked up and glared at me. "First of all, No, second of all you know my name is Annie."  "Whatever I going to be late anyway." I grabbed a waffle and ran out the door.  I walked down the steps of the house passing though the garden and snagging my skateboard.

I approached the bus stop. "Kennedy!"  A voice shouted.  I sprinted towards two figures. Layla and Will. My two friends since I was 8. I was adopted by my aunt when I was 5 after I was abandoned by my parents.
"Ladies and Gents for once... Kennedy isn't late! Round of applause please!" Will shouted, making a woman walking her dog look at us weird.
"Thanks will." I said sarcastically. 
A bus pulled up and screeched to a halt.
"Is this the bus to Sky High," Will asked.
I rolled my eyes and huffed.
"Shhhh, What are you, Crazy," the bus driver asked, "Do you want every supervillain in the neighborhood to know we're here?"
"No, no, Sorry," Will replied quickly.
Will walked passed him but he stopped me and Layla causing Will to stop, "What's your name, Freshman," He asked.

Will just stared and said, "W-will Stronghold."

The bus driver stared and gulped... like the son of the Commander and Jetstream," He suddenly stood up and grabbed Will by the shoulder, "Everyone! This is Will Stronghold! The son of The Commander and Jetstream," He said something else but I just tuned him out and passed Will to find an empty seat in the back.
I sat down and pulled out my phone.
Layla sat next to me, "Soooo how are your fashion designs coming?," She asked.
I looked at her and smirked as I handed her my ideas.

"Wow," She gasped.
Layla was the only person that knew I could draw. Layla started meditating as I started to scroll though my Pinterest.

All the sudden straps zipped across my shoulders along with Laylas.  All the Sudden the bus zoomed off of the bridge everyone started screaming while I let out a yelp. I herd the bus driver laugh, "freshman."  

Not to soon after the bus landed strolled up towards the school the whole group admiring the sights, A girl the ice powers and to girls flying, All the sudden there was a whirl of wind and we were all clustered together.

Once we were clustered all the way until we were greeted by a tall lanky boy and a stout fat one with a backwards baseball cap.. "Hey freshmen," the fat one said, "Your attention please"
I glared at the Duo, I really hate bullies. "I'm Lash and this is Speed," Lash said. What stupid names.
"And as representatives of the Sky High welcome committee.," Lash started.
"We'd be happy to collect the $15 Dollars new student fee," Speed finished.
Lash stretched his hand out to me. Layla stood next to me and she looked a little scared, not for me of course but for Lash and Speed. "I expect that hand out of my face in ten seconds," I spoke to him.
"Or what are you gonna do princess?" Lash took his hand and gently touched my cheek.
"You shouldn't have done that," Layla said.
My eyes started to glow my voice changed, "step away." My voice now was deep and alluring. I reached my arm out and purple energy started flowing between my fingers and then I flicked my wrist and he went flying. Right after a girl approached us. She had long brown hair and she was wearing a pink sweater vest.  "Hello! I'm Gwen student body president of sky high and...." I started to drown her out as hyperfocoused on a wall. (I have ADHD btw)
I felt Layla nudge me. "Keys." She motioned for me to follow Gwen and the rest of the group. "Damnit.."  I thought

~time skip~

The principle has given a whole speech on power placement and that was fun all the sudden a dude who looks to be in his late 40s walks in wearing a sweatsuit.

"Alright, listen up," Coach Boomer said, "My name is Coach Boomer. You may know me as Sonic Boom, you may not. Here's how power placements gonna work. You will step up here and show me your power. And, yes, you will do so in front of the entire class. I will then determine where you will be assigned. Hero or sidekick. Now, each year there are a few students or as I like to call them "Whiner babies," I chuckled quietly, "who see fit to question and to complain about their placement. So let's get one thing straight. My word is law"
"My judgment is final, so there will be no whiner babies. Are we clear?" Coach Boomer asked. Everyone said yes but I just mumbled out a yeah,
"I said... ARE WE CLEAR," He boomed.
"YES COACH BOOMER," Everyone shouted.

Coach Boomer smiled and blow his whistle and the sorting began. I glanced at Will who I could tell was very anxious.

Larry- Rock mane- HERO

Boy 1- Multiple arms- HERO
Girl 1- Ball- SIDEKICK
Boy 2- Acid spit- HERO

Layla- Flower Child- SIDEKICK
Coach boomer shouted all the sudden, "after lunch I except ALL of you to come back and we will start with you." Pointing at Will. WHO gulped.

~LUNCH TIME~

As we walked away from the lunch line Zach started to complain about boomer making him a sidekick.All the sudden coach walks up to Zach. "Oh shit.." I whisper.
"What was that? You don't like my judgment?"
Zach started to stutter but then it just turned out to be the shapeshifter. "Just messing with you sidekick.  I could feel Zach's relief, but as we kept trying to find he contains to complain "Dude, Zach, shut up, If he made you a hero, please tell me, how in the hell would you beat the villain that you're given when you graduate," I groaned sitting Down at an empty table.
Zach stayed quiet and I  smirked.
"Exactly, that's why your a sidekick, Glowing Isn't much. But just be grateful you aren't in dork's place." I laughed as I nudged Will.
Will groaned and laid his head on the table.
I sighed  "You'll get your powers, I have hope."
"OK, Am I crazy or is that guy looking at me?"
Will asked after looking behind him.
"Dude," Zach said.
"What?" Will asked.
"That's Warren Peace," Zach said.
"That's Warren Peace?" I asked and
Zach nodded, "Goddamn."
"Is he still starting?" Will whimpered
"No." I said knowing that he was staring daggers at Will.
He turned and the second he saw peace he turned around and looked like he was going to cry.

~after lunch~
We walked back into the gym and Will walks up onto the mini stage and whispers something in coachs ear. "What do you mean you don't know what your power is," Coach Boomer asked loudly,
"Oh, I got it. You're messin' with the coach.
Just like your old man. Car!"
A car drops from the ceiling and Will quickly lays flat in the ground, "Are you insane!?" Will asked, "I Don't have super strength"
"Oh, I get it," Boomer muses, "You're a flier, just like your ma. Why didn't you say so?"
Boomer pushed a button and Will went flying through the air screaming. "Kid stop messing around, I haven't got all day, Whats your
power?"
"I don't have one," Will grunts out.
"Stronghold...
SIIIIIIIIIDDDDDEEEEEKICK"

I shouldn't have but I burst out into laughter
"You think this is funny?" Boomer asks.
"Well, I mean.." I smirk
"Ok then you next!"
I have always been frightened of my powers because I don't know how powerful I am.
"Name?" He asks.
"Kennedy Quinn." I answer.
"OK. Kid show us what you got."
I held out my hands and foucused. ⪻AN: Her powers are like Wanda's from the MCU but it is a veriation of them.⪼
My once white hair now had highlights made of Purple lighting making it hover and with that I started to hover the power rushing between my fingers. I heard coach scoff, "CAR!"
Then a car came down towards me. I flicked my hands up as if holding it. The lighting/power wrapped around it. "Now that is a power!"
