Fritz strained his back to look out of the passenger window to get a glimpse of the neighborhood as it rushed by.
"Almost there!" His mother ruffled his ginger hair a bit as she pushed the brakes briefly to stop at a red light. Fritz let his mother play with his hair for a second, then batted her hand away. "Mom," He said. "Stop, please. I'm a growing seven year old; You don't need to do that."
"Really?" His mother asked, ignoring his comment about the hair, ruffling it more. "Is my baby actually growing up?"
"Yes," Fritz responded, flattening his hair a bit. "So don't treat me like a baby, like you just did."
His mom turned her eyes back to the road. "So if you're growing up that means you'll have to do grown up things. Like feeding the fish, watering the plants, paying taxes, cooking, chores..." She trailed off, focusing on turning into the parking lot. "And no more playing video games, relaxing, or even seeing Freddy and his friends, because that's for little kids." She parked the car.
"No!" Fritz yelled. "No more any of that?" His eyes stretched wide in disbelief.
"Yep. No more of that kid stuff. Only adult stuff."
"Im just kidding, Mommy," Fritz put a large smile on his cute face. "I'm just joking. Im never ever going to grow up, it sounds very boring. It's only for grown up's to do, so I won't grow up, not ever."
"Okay, okay, honey. Just for the grown ups." His mother smiled and got out of the car, careful not to hit the black car neighboring her own red vehicle. She closed the door behind her, her purse hanging over her shoulder.
Fritz jumped out of the car and energetically ran over to her. He pulled on her shirt while yelling, "Let's go, let's go! Come on!"
His mother stood still and looked down at him. She bent over so he could see her better with his smudged glasses.
"Are you forgetting anything?"
"No!"
"Nothing at all?" His mom smiled at him and pointed into the car.
"No I'm—" Fritz looked into the window to see his dead looking plush, Foxy, on the floor infront of his seat. He ran over and pulled the door open.
"Foxy!" He said. "I'm sorry for leaving you in the car! I forgot I bring you!"
His mom rolled her eyes when he said that. "You forget him every time."
Fritz ran over to his mother.
"Let'a go inside!" He said excitedly. She grabbed his hand and looked down at him and the Foxy in his arms.
"First we look for cars, then we go," she said sternly. She and Fritz waited patently before crossing the street towards the sign with the big robot-looking brown bear with a top hat holding a microphone up to his mouth. Fritz looked at Freddy Fazbear. The sign seemed to beckon him inside.
