3rd Person POV

"Oh." was the last thing either of the two girls said. Gracie looked like she wanted nothing more than to comfort Y/N, but that wasn't her place anymore, right? It was as if the room had shrunk and the quiet that filled the kitchen became loud. So loud it started to make the throbbing in Y/N's head increase. It was slowly becoming unbearable, the kind of pain that makes you want to cry.

So that's what she did. She cried. All the walls she put up were gone. Crying in front of her ex, how much more pathetic could she get? She felt dumb, she tried avoiding showing weakness but it became too much too fast.

With no hesitance Gracie was right there by her side, holding her and whispering sweet nothings into her ear. Anything to get the girl to calm down a bit.

It didn't take too long for the younger girls breathing to even out, as she felt comfort and familiarity in Gracie's arms. Y/N was at peace and quite frankly she was exhausted.

"I'm sorry that happened." Gracie whispered not wanting to ruin whatever moment the two had going on. She waited for a response but was met with silence. Looking at the girl she saw her body moving up and down slowly, her lips slightly parted and eyes shut tight. She was asleep, while sitting in a chair? Weird.

With great delicateness Gracie slowly picked up the shorter girl in her arms. Carrying her bridal style to the couch allowing her to sleep a bit more comfortably.

As Gracie moved away to give space to the sleeping girl she heard a whining sound. Before she knew it a soft hand was around her wrist preventing her from moving any further.

"Don't go." Y/N mumbled tiredly, not wanting the person that brought her peace to leave. Gracie also being tired herself gave no complaints as she sat down on the couch placing Y/N's head in her lap. A whispered 'thank you' was heard before being replaced by small snores.

Brushing her fingers through the sleeping girls hair, Gracie found herself missing this. The days where they just spent time in each others arms, talking about everything and anything. Or the days where they embraced and stayed silent knowing that words weren't needed because in those moments nothing else mattered but each other.

She didn't know when the tears started falling, but they wouldn't stop. It was like all the unshed tears from their failed relationship were all coming out now. It was physically paining her and she couldn't stop the loud gasp for breath that escaped her mouth. Clasping her hand over her mouth she looked down at Y/N hoping she'd still be asleep, but of course nothing ever works out the way she wants. The younger girl was rubbing the tiredness from her eyes as she slowly sat up.

"What's wrong?" she immediately questioned, worry evident in her voice.

"I'm so- I'm sorry for everything that happened. I wish it didn't happen like that and I feel like a bitch because you didn't deserve that. Having you here in my arms it just- it made me remember how we were." Gracie answered through her tears. "God, we were so happy and I ruined it." she added with a sarcastic laugh.

"Look, I'm not gonna give you some bs because what you did was fucked up. But I know that it's easier to believe rumors than the truth. And I also know that me cheating was something you were always scared of. Not because you didn't trust me, but because of past relationships and I can't blame you." Y/N told the girl sympathetically. "But Gracie this is something that you never should've believed."

"So I'm taking this as a sign that you didn't go out with Jenna, huh?" she questioned half seriously.

"Of course I didn't go out with Jenna! I love you too much to ever think about hurting you. When I was with you, I had eyes for you and you only. You were the only girl. I can guarantee that." Y/N told her truthfully.

Gracie stared at her with a wide smile not saying any words. Her mind was stuck on one thing.

Love.

Y/N never stopped loving her. Even after the shit she put her through she still loved her. But before she could dwell on it for too long Y/N began to speak again.

"I'm willing to try again if that's something you'd also want. And if that's the case I'm having a party next weekend for my 21st, if you show up I'll know you're serious. February 22nd mark the date." the girl said looking into Gracie's eyes showing she wasn't kidding.

"No, yes I want to try again so trust me I'll be there. I wouldn't miss your 21st birthday for anything in the world." Gracie told her with the biggest smile on her face. A loud buzz broke her out of her trance and with a groan she picked up her phone. Checking it, a small frown overtook her features. "Look I have lunch with my parents in 2 hours so I have to go, but I promise I won't let you down."

With that she quickly got up giving the younger girl a hug and a quick kiss on the cheek. Y/N stayed sat on the couch with rosy cheeks at the unexpected gesture, too flustered to walk Gracie out. A 'bye' was shouted over her shoulder before the front door closed, leaving Y/N alone with thoughts of next Saturday running through her head.
