CHAPTER 2: A Primitive Village

{Nobody's POV}

"Kohaku... How many people do you have here?" Senku asked Kohaku.

"I don't remember how many retirees and children there are, but aside from them, I think there are exactly forty." She replied with.

"Forty..." Y/N muttered.

"Kohaku and the rest of them apparently don't know anything about modern technology. So this is a settlement of revived people. Which means there must have been a first generation. For example, hundreds of years ago, they might've been a first generation science man like me, who made revival fluid. There's no sight of revival fluid or any kind of science passed down here, though. Where did these people come from?" Senku said in his mind.

Both Senku and Y/N were standing in front of the gates. As they approached the wooden bridge to enter the village, 2 men appeared out of nowhere. Thankfully, Kohaku quickly stepped in and stopped them, before they could hurt neither of them.

"Don't be violent, Kinro, Ginro. These 2 saved my life." Kohaku said, as she turned to look at the 2 guards.

"You can't do that, Kohaku-chan. That's not good. Outsiders aren't allowed here. That's a rule. The chief's going to be angry with you." The man known as Ginro said. He was a rather short, androgynous young man with medium-length blond hair that covers the left side of his face. He had round, green eyes and soft facial features, and was not very muscular. Ginro also wore a blue karate gi-like uniform and belt.

"That's a simple fact. The rules are the rules." The other man known as Kinro added. He was a muscular young man of slightly above-average height with brown hair, green eyes, a scar on his right cheek and a lock of long hair that hangs between his eyes. He also wore a sleeveless karate gi-like uniform with a rope belt. On his back, he wore a buckler emblazoned with the village's star pattern.

"There are no people outside the village. All those outside are criminals, who were banished before." Ginro added

"Therefore, I can't let you in. There's no room for consideration, even if they may have saved your life." Kinro finished.

"Oh? You leave me no choice, then. Shall we fight here and now?" Kohaku asked with a threatening tone.

"Oh, dear, it's two on one. You clearly have an advantage." Kohaku added. The 2 men looked at her with uneasiness. Especially Ginro, who was sweat dropping. Both men knew that Kohaku was stronger than them.

"You're so short-tempered. And you make such a nasty face." Senku commented, while dipping his hands into the water and rubbing them with soap to create a white foam.

"Sorcery!" Kohaku exclaimed, seeing the white foam in Senku's hands.

Senku then proceeded to blow on the soap, creating a few bubbles. The guards looked at the bubbles in shock. Kinro thrust his spear forward, causing one of the bubbles to pop, surprising him even more.

"What is this? What are these suspicious floating orbs?" Ginro questioned in confusion.

"So that's the level you're at, huh?" Senku asked, while picking his ear.

"That's kinda sad." Y/N said, sweat dropping a bit.

Suddenly Senku's expression changed into a more dark, as he also smiled creepily.

"I guess I'm taking all of this, then. I'm going to get of forty of you on my side with science. This is exhilarating." He said.

Both Kohaku and Y/N looked at him with deadpan expressions.

"You make such a nasty face. That's pretty sketchy, you know." Kohaku commented.

"Senku, please stop making that face." Y/N added.
