Chapter 5

Kairen pulled up to my driveway, and as I reached for my purse and prepared to grab the handle, they interrupted me with their words.

"Hey, before you go, do you have any plans for later?" I hesitated, contemplating what they had in mind. It seemed like they misinterpreted my hesitation as anxiety. "I mean, with everything going on, I thought you might want to do something fun since you'll be cooped up all day."

I pondered for a moment, unsure if I was in the mood for socializing. "Hmm, I'm not sure. What do you consider fun?" I glanced off into the distance, lost in my thoughts.

"There's this fashion show happening, and my designs are going to be featured. I just have one more piece to finish, but it might take some time. If you want to come, I'll hurry over to you."

My eyes lit up with excitement, resembling a cartoon dog that had just caught wind of something intriguing.

I eagerly seized the opportunity, my excitement palpable. "Oh, I would absolutely love to go! Funny enough, I'm quite into fashion myself. I actually work at Charmed-" I paused, suddenly realizing that as an administrative assistant, I wasn't exactly deeply involved in the fashion industry. However, my roommate and I had transformed one of the rooms into our own creative haven. Kassi, being an artist, and me, pursuing my passion for fashion design. This room was a treasure trove of fabrics, ranging from smooth silks to delicate linens that exuded an ethereal fairy-like vibe. Countless ongoing projects were scattered about.

An idea sparked in my mind, fueling my enthusiasm. "Hey, do you happen to have your materials with you? Instead of making multiple trips, why don't you come to my design studio? You can work on your piece there." It was only after the words left my lips that I realized I had just invited a total stranger into my home. It dawned on me that I had become far too comfortable, far too quickly.

Kairen's nervous chuckle filled the air, their laughter tinged with a hint of unease. It was clear that they was feeling a mix of anticipation and uncertainty.

"If it's not too much trouble, would you mind if I take a look at your studio? I'd like to see what materials I'll need to bring. Unfortunately, I didn't bring them with me. Since you live close by, it won't take long for me to make a quick trip back to my place and gather my supplies. Oh, and if it's alright with you, could I use your shower? I want to freshen up before we head out."

As Kairen made the request, a sudden realization dawned on me, Kairen... showering.. in my bathroom.. naked? and a rush of embarrassment turned my cheeks a deep shade of crimson. "Um, not at all," I managed to stammer, my voice barely audible as I hid my face, stealing a shy glance at them, whose wide smile revealed an endearing dimple.

Kairen continued,
"Alright then, here's what we'll do. I'll drive back to my place, and you can come with me. That way, we can accomplish everything in one trip." The thought of spending more time with them filled me with a mix of nervousness and anticipation. I nodded in agreement. "Alright bet it's a plan."

Kairen swung open the door of the driver's side, I finally really took in their appearanceZ My eyes widened as I took in their tall, slim figure, accentuated by a muscular build. They exuded a sense of effortless style, wearing a black crop top tank that hugged their body perfectly, paired with loose-fitted, baggy black pants. An abstract earring adorned their left ear, catching the light and adding an intriguing touch to their ensemble. As they stepped closer, I couldn't help but notice the multitude of crystal gems adorning their hands. It was clear that they're into fashion; they seemed like a walking, living embodiment of a runway model. Time seemed to slow down as they approached, their movements graceful and deliberate. The air was filled with the intoxicating aroma of an expensive perfume, replacing the usual scent of lavender that permeated the surroundings and hung on their clothing yesterday. It was all so breathtaking, causing my heart to skip a beat in response.
