The story begins a few days before the highly anticipated match with Shiratorizawa. It was the last grueling practice of the day, and Tsukishima found himself unable to leave early due to his cleaning duty with none other than the king himself, Kageyama Tobio. Surprisingly, the cleaning session had gone smoother than expected, with both of them silently going about their tasks, occasionally exchanging sneering remarks. They were determined to finish quickly and part ways without uttering a single word.
With the gym finally locked up, Tsukishima decided to drown out the world with his headphones as he embarked on the journey home. The rhythm of the music matched the pace of his footsteps, providing a familiar comfort that shielded him from the world outside. Oblivious to his surroundings, he arrived at his house and was about to push the front door open when something caught his attention—a sleek, expensive car parked in the driveway.
Though intrigued, Tsukishima brushed it off. He entered the house, calling out the customary "I'm home" as a formality, not expecting any response. As he removed his shoes and closed the door, his eyes couldn't help but be drawn to a pair of familiar shoes—dress shoes, to be exact. Beside them were two other pairs, noticeably larger in size. They didn't belong to his brother, Akitaru, who certainly didn't have friends of such stature.
Curiosity tugged at Tsukishima, but he decided to set aside his questions for the moment, opting to proceed further into the house. However, his path was abruptly halted by the sound of a deep, resonant voice echoing through the hallway, growing louder with each step he took.
