IT HAD been approximately a couple of months since the death of her cousin Charlie. She hadn't been able to drag his body out to be buried because the heard of walkers had heard her sobs, she had left him there to rot,to decay all alone.

She continued walking through the forest she had stopped to see a deer, she grabbed her gun and pointed it towards the deer, her foot got stuck on a branch and she tumbled down to the ground alerting the deer as it ran away. She huffed and got back up looking around to see if she had any other chance of hunting something to eat.She had no luck her stomach growled and growled each time louder, she ignored it and continued walking, the forest was quite dull not as colorful it used to be.

Ellie had left her hideout the night it had happened she was off heading to anywhere her direction being south, the south reminded her off the trips she used to take to Virginia they used to walk in the parks and always go kayaking, she loved kayaking. Her father taught her how to ride a canoe which lead to her favorite thing being canoeing and kayaking anything that had to do with cold water and fishing, seeing the sunrise and sunset as the clouds dimmed the sun from her eyes, the golden hues hitting her light olive skin and the relaxation of sun tanning with her mom while they talked endlessly about anything. But now, she disliked anything that had sun and humidity the feeling of sweat going down her neck and legs, the feeling of her baby hairs sticking to her forehead. These days she preferred Fall instead of Summer, the leaves falling, the wind blowing, the sun hidden,it always being rainy felt like a shower. She learned to love the rain because of the clean feeling it gave her unlike how she used to hate when it rained, the dampness of her clothes sticking to her irritated the hell out of her.She climbed a tree only a couple feet off of the ground looking around for any type of safe and secure space she could set up somewhere to camp out at for the night, seeing a area of the forest that she could use she walked to it setting down her bag and putting her gun down inside of it.She took the empty cans that she had ate out of on a long thin rope she had found inside a small abandoned gas station. She took of her jacket setting it down by the fire she set up, she picked up a large rock sharpening her dull knife.

The loud noises of the rock and knife being scrapped together was music to her ears.It brought her price knowing she had something to defend herself with. She started thinking about how far away from Virginia she might be, a loud crunching of twigs on the forest floor snapped her out of her thoughts. She instantly tightened her grip on the knife hearing footsteps getting closer, she quickly turned catching the dead off guard, killing it instantly. She looked as it's body fell to the ground realizing that it wasn't one of the dead..but a person. Her eyes widened she hadn't seen other people in forever it felt like, but how could she trust anybody..All people did nowadays were kill, hoard, and survive in anyway they have too.Thinking quickly she ran to her backpack shoving it over her shoulder and sprinting as fast as she could, they're could've been more of them wanting to kill her or kidnap and rape her so she ran, she ran like hell.Suddenly she felt herself falling forwards everything going black, she had to be dead..Right?
