As September reached its midpoint, the summer season was coming to an end. In Tappahannock, Virginia, the arrival of fall brought with it a gentle breeze that rustled through the dampened foliage and grass. A pair of bamboo earrings clanked against Honey's tawny-brown skin. Her hot pink spaghetti summer dress ended midway above her knees. A side swoop bang fishtail fell halfway on Honey's back because she didn't feel like doing her hair.

Walking from the grocery store, she considered whether she wanted to add another couple of minutes. The burden of keeping the news from certain people was weighing heavily on her heart recently. Neither she nor her parents knew the information, and she wasn't sure whether to let go. Looking at the red stop sign in front of her, her mind was racing between going left or right.

She turned her head to the right and threw her head back. Honey's sandal-clad feet swung through the soil. The dim sky didn't distract her from the bleak sky. Honey's walk slowed as she stepped on shabby white steps; each time her foot moved, a crack was heard.

Honey balled her fist and knocked on the glass door. She waved to see if anyone was approaching the door. A golden light brown adolescent boy opened the door and opened it slightly for her to enter. She leaned outside the truck in the driveway and declined, pointing at it.

After raising an eyebrow, he said, "Okay, dimples, we'll talk outside." After closing the door behind him, he followed her to the truck.

Czar, a well-built six-foot-two man with golden brown skin, leaned against his car in the muggy summer air. His white tank top clung to his sweat-slicked skin and his oversized basketball shorts sagged around his hips. Though not wealthy, the Adidas sneakers on his feet showed he took pride in his appearance.

Across from him stood his female friend, Honey. She shifted her weight from foot to foot, avoiding his concerned gaze. Czar wondered what was so important that she had called him outside to talk. They usually spoke inside, where the air conditioning provided a comfortable backdrop for their conversations.

"What's going on? Are you okay?" Czar finally asked, breaking the heavy silence between them. Honey's eyes flickered up to meet his before falling again. Czar's brow furrowed. He didn't deserve to be hurt by her, but he could tell she was struggling with something. Since they weren't in a committed relationship, Honey shouldn't have a problem breaking off whatever was between them. But perhaps there was a deeper connection here that she just couldn't put into words.

At fifteen and sixteen, Czar and Honey may have feelings they could fathom revealing. Before Honey could open her mouth, a vehicle suddenly stopped in front of the house on the grass, and she shook her head in disappointment. Honey clings to Czar as she begins to cry, slowly holding on. Suddenly, the car door slammed shut, and Honey opened her mouth, saying what she wanted to say in a regular tone.

"Czar, I'm sorry, but I have to go– to Beverly Hills." Czar looked down at her, confused and shocked that she had left for Beverly Hills without him getting the chance to express his feelings.

Honey was no longer known to Czar. She was being dragged by her forearm by her father as he fussed over getting her into the Cadillac SUV's passenger seat. While watching Czar shrink and shrink, Honey screamed, trying to escape.

'Shawty just ripped my heart out.' Honey was the last thing Czar thought about.

My mind has all these stories and it's just like I need to finish all of them but I'm still creating new books. Let me know your thoughts on this chapter. Excuse any mistakes and grammar errors.
