Doe wasn't going to lie and say she didn't look sexier than before. Her style improved as she became curvier, thicker, and thicker. He liked her because she was the grown-up Dimples, but he wouldn't tell Czar.
Honey dropped her drink when she saw the aggressive tone of a man yelling Doe's name during what they were about to talk about.
PRESENT
Her eyes widened as they landed on him. It was really Czar standing there, the one and only. His expressions shifted nervously, though his body language remained steady. A golden hoop on one side, a nose ring on the other. Honey felt a smile tug at her lips as she noticed his freckles. Tattoos swirled over his body, a chipotle bag of ink from face to fist.
Against the black bandanna around his hair, those dark locks stood out starkly. Was he looking at her from behind those shades? She couldn't quite tell. Silence hung between them until Doe waved a hand in front of Czar's face, prompting him to storm off and grab his glasses in a huff.
The crowd watched, amused and confused.
Honey frowned, removing her own glasses with a sigh. She shot Doe a defeated look as he walked off to find Czar leaning against his Maybach in the parking lot. Czar's mind raced, pondering why he'd frozen up back there.
It had been a while since he'd seen the girl he once adored. He thought he'd be tough enough to shrug off those old feelings when he saw her again. Not a chance. It all came rushing back.
He turned, hanging his head as he faced the trunk. "Doe, why's that bitch here?" Czar's choice of words surprised Doe. He didn't fully grasp what had happened between them.
Czar kept parts of his history with Honey to himself. She'd seen a side of him few others had - the emotional side he rarely showed. Mustering his strength, he said, "Tell her to come here." Without taking his eyes off the middle distance.
Doe nodded slowly and walked back to Honey, sitting uneasy with her friends. She wanted to leave. Shaking her head anxiously when Doe whispered Czar's request, she wondered if coming back to Richmond had been a mistake.
"Uh Uh, that Beezy bet-" Honey gave Deontay a ' shut up' look before getting up and going along with Doe. As she turned her head, she mouthed to her friends that she was going to be fine.
When she spotted Czar with his hands planted on the trunk of the car, she had thoughts and feelings. Czar slowly lifted his head, focusing on Honey's attire with a stank look plastered on his face, not liking her attire as Doe cleared his throat with his hand on his neck, uncomfortable.
His lips fumbled as he contemplated leaving.
Czar never left his attention on Honey and simply dismissed Doe's request for them to be left alone. Taking a step back from Honey, Doe looked at her face to make sure she was okay with that statement, and she nodded and nodded back, walking away with a nod of approval.
After Doe left, it appeared as though everything was awkward because that was the only sound you heard after the wind blew. As Honey and Czar continued to gaze at each other, Czar caused her to feel uncomfortable and nervous, so she turned around about to walk away before Czar called her out in a loud tone.
In a sense she found it attractive due to the raspy, deep, but soft voice he now had, it came as a bit of a shock to her.
Upon seeing her, the Czar walked closer to her, keeping his hand at his side, the thumb running over the fingers in a fist position as he walked towards her. There was an awe in Honey's eyes as she gazed at him. She decided that it was enough for her to back herself into someone else's trunk until her lower back came into contact with the trunk of someone else.
