Peppermint

Summary: Peter inherited more Spider traits than he thought

Peter knew he inherited around 8% of Spider DNA but he didnt expect that theyd expand. Over the past few Weeks of Winter break Peter has been staying over at the Avengers Compound with the rest of the Team enjoying the time they had together but his mind was always on alert for some reason unknown to him, it never happened before after all only things that changed are the newly added christmas decorations all over the compound and even though they looked nice better felt a bit uneasy around especially in the kitchen, but for the sake of others he didnt mention anything and supressed the urges to distance himself 50m from the weird source that made his Spidey Senses act up.

It went suprisingly well until the one fateful day, the Avengers all met in the kitchen and living area to spend time together but today peters urge to get away was even stronger, he knew he was safe though and sat next to Bruce Banner as they started a small conversation while the rest of the Team joined, but as Thor sat down with a mug of seemingly hot choclate Peter wrinkled his Nose in disgust and shifted away, whatever was on that Mug alerted him of danger and just overall reeked so he did whats best for him.
„agh whats in that filthy mug thor are you drinking a corpses fart or what is this" he said jumping up onto the ceiling corner.

The rest or the Team looked weirdly at Peter seemingly not bothered by that stank at all.
„Hey underoos whats the problem? its just a Cup of Hot Choclate?"
„But theres something foul in it!"
Thor spoke up „Tonyson this is a great Mix of Chocolate and the plant you midgardians call Peppermint, Pepper has recommended me this flavor and it is quite good if you want to have a try!" he boomed.
„id rather not i dont know about you guys but it reeks and makes my senses go haywire"
„Wait Peter how many Spider Characteristics did you exactly inherit? Peppermint is a known Spider Repellent i think it might be bound to your DNA change" bruce said in thoughts.
„wait so youre telling me the kid could have been uneasy all that time? theres peppermint everywhere since days!" tony exclaimed worried
„oh that actually makes sense oh man that sucks so i cant have choclate mint icecream anymore? awh"
„so what youre saying is bug spray may work on him too" clint asked with a sly smirk
„dont you dare clint" tony cut him off

while all that happened bucky and natasha slowly got rid off the peppermint around so peter would feel more welcome, including confiscation of thors mug.

Peter slowly came down again from the ceiling, „maybe we should see if more changed than i thought of" he said to tony and bruce.

that evening they found out he also does indeed not do well with bug spray, lavender or citrus.
