Author's POV...

Netra reached home around 8.30 almost an hour late. On the way, she went to Mehra's house first and called for Nishant. Aunty and Uncle both were involved in completing his homework. Seeing the sight Netra smiled with contentment and thanked that she has Mehra for her help. Seeing her Nishant rushed to her saying, "You are late Netra". She picked him up and kissing his cheeks said, "I am so sorry, last moment I got stuck." She continued, "So what about your report card, show me."

Nishant jumped down from her hold and keeping his hands on his waist demanded, "My gift first?". Netra held her ears saying," Sorry my baby. I will bring tomorrow."

Mrs. Sandhya interrupted asking Netra to come in and have food. She said she had made mixed veg paratha and Nishant has already eaten. It was tempting for Netra as she was already starving. But Netra said, "Thank you Aunty, but I will get freshen up first, and morning's food is in the fridge. I will heat it and have."

Sandhya knew her answer so without saying anything she went inside and packed two parathas in a tiffin and kept inside Nishant's bag while handing it to her. Both duos left to their place, bidding bye to the Mehra's.

Nishant was rambling all the time and telling Netra about his day's activities in school, at the Mehra's and what his grandpa taught him today. Netra knew Sandhya aunty has kept the tiffin inside so she took the container and kept it on the kitchen platform. As Nishant had already had his dinner, she just removed the milk container from the fridge and kept it outside to boil it and went to freshen up.

Nishant ran to their bedroom and sitting on the bed took out his report card and showed it to Netra with a proud grin on his face. Seeing his grinning face, she knew he had scored well and had already got many praises from Mr. and Mrs. Mehra. Report card showed A+ scorings in almost all the subjects except in language subjects and drawing where he got only B+.

Kissing his cheeks and patting his back Netra said, "Good Nishant. I am so proud of you my baby, you scored so well. Next time I want an A+ in all the subjects ok."

The kid felt good hearing this compliment from Netra and hugging her by her neck said ," OK." He started playing his favorite game on her mobile, which he gets only at night sometimes or during weekends.

Netra took a relaxing shower and wearing her night suit moved to the kitchen. She switched on the gas stove and kept the milk to heat. The parathas were smelling very tasty, she opened the container and placed the same on a plate. Pouring the milk into a glass she went to their room but before going she secured the main lock and switched off the kitchen and the living room lights, keeping only the dim lights on. Sitting on the nearby couch in the bedroom she had her parathas and Nishant was giggling playing the game. By the time she finished eating, Nishant too finished his milk and gave the glass to Netra. After brushing their teeth, they both retired for the day.

Snuggling beside Netra, Nishant asked, "Netra tell me a new story"

"Let me think," Netra said caressing his silky hair. But before she could start anything she noticed his eyelids were drooping and within a few minutes the kid slept. Adoring his innocent and chubby face, Netra made him sleep properly on the pillow, planting a soft kiss on his forehead. Setting the alarm Netra too cuddled near Nishant, plans to get up as soon as the alarm goes off.

The next few weeks were very hectic for Netra. It's not that she is not used to it but the new CEO was very active being young. He gave her many references and made her contact them. Which meant briefing them with the case matters now and then and responding to their queries.

Netra and Nirvaan continued to work closely on the case, exchanging ideas and strategies. As they spent more time together, Netra began to notice another side of Nirvaan's personality. He was dedicated and driven and had a natural charm and a sense of humor that was hard to resist.
